Motocross European Championships: 2024 provisional calendar FIM Europe, together with Infront Moto Racing and FIM, is delighted to share the provisional 2024 Motocross calendar! The season is set to kick off on the 24th of March with the Grand Prix of Europe (venue TBA) and to finish off on 08th September in Afyonkarahisar, Turkiye. 15 events together with the FIM Motocross World Championship for 4 different series: EMX250, EMX125, EMX Open and EMX2T, adding the Finals for EMX65 and EMX85. On Sunday Italian Simone Mancini has taken victory in the YZ125 class after putting in a masterful display which saw him top timed practice, carve to the front and lead for the entire race. EMX125 and EMX250 European Championship: Bonacorsi and Reisulis crowned in Great Britain The ultimate round of the EMX250 and EMX125 Presented by FMF Racing displayed a lot of great racing across the board at the riders’ favourite track of Matterley Basin for the round of Great Britain. In EMX250, it was Team VRT KTM Factory Juniors’ Marc-Antoine Rossi who closed the season from the best of manners with his second overall win of the season in front of his teammate Ferruccio Zanchi and Hutten Metaal Yamaha Racing Team’s Karlis Reisulis who cliched his first podium of the season in third place. This last round witnessed the final decider in EMX125 Presented by FMF Racing that saw MJC Yamaha Official EMX125’s Janis Reisulis taking the European Title on the first race with a dominant win. EMX250 European Championship: Bonacorsi dominates in Turkiye to clinch the title The penultimate round of the EMX250 in Afyon, Turkiye witnessed greatness in the making with many battles and good racing happening over the weekend. In the end, Hutten Metaal Yamaha Racing Team’s Andrea Bonacorsi managed to clinch the overall and the EMX250 Championship Title with one round to spare and a 100% podiums which shows the dominance of the Italian this season. Bonacorsi cannot be caught up by Husqvarna BT Racing Team’s Kay Karssemakers in the last round in Great Britain and can enjoy to be a double European Champion following his title in EMX125. EEMX250 European Championship: Bonacorsi gets back to winning ways in Arnhem The Round of Netherlands in EMX250 witnessed many battles across the board. The sand track of Arnhem allowed riders to show all their skills and speed to overtake and fight for the top spots. Red Plate Hutten Metaal Yamaha Racing Team’s Andrea Bonacorsi won his 3rd round of the season and kept his 100% podium record this season while extending his lead in the Championship. Fantic Racing MX’s Cas Valk confirmed his emphatic win in Sweden with the 2nd overall while BT Racing Team’s Kay Karssemakers pulled out another podium after fighting hard to come back in the first race. In race 1, home rider Cas Valk took a huge start and the lead in front of his countryman Hutten Metaal Yamaha Racing Team’s Ivano Van Erp and VRT KTM Factory Juniors’ Ferruccio Zanchi. EMX125 and EMX Open European Championship: Goupillon is victorious in EMX Open while Reisulis wins in EMX125 The round of Flanders in Lommel saw the 7th round of the EMX125 presented by FMF Racing and the unique round of the EMXOpen. The competition raged over two days on the technical sand track, and the two classes delivered an outstanding show for the large Belgian public present. The two races in each category run over Saturday and Sunday which saw a complete change of weather making it even more challenging for the riders. EMX Women' European Championship: Van Drunen and Barker claim the title The EMX Women' European Championship raced the last round of the season featuring the EMX65 / EMX85 European Championship – SW and SE zone Semifinal in Gazzane di Preseglie, Italy. For the sixth time in a row Lotte Van Drunen (Kawasaki) ruled the weekend with a masterpiece of 25+25 points. The Dutch rider had no rivals this season, winning all the races and becoming the new EMX Women’ Champion. Difficult season to date for the defending champion Mathea Selebo (Yamaha), who with another double second position confirmed the second place in the standings. EMX65 / EMX85 European Championship - Semifinal SW and SE zone After the challenge between the Central Europe and North Europe zone, last week the SW and SE zone met in Gazzane di Preseglie, Italy, for the second EMX65 / EMX85 European Championship – Semifinal. EMX65 The first race of EMX65 saw the win of the SW zone leader Francesco Assini (GasGas) ahead of French riders Tim Lopes (GasGas) and Loan Torro (GasGas). Race 2 was ruled by Slovenian Taj Golez (Husqvarna), who won the qualifying race on Saturday, but finished sixth in the first heat. With the second position and 22 points the Italian rider Assini took the Semifinal win. Third place for Gonzalo Salvador (KTM), fourth for Alex Novak (KTM) and fifth for Loan Torro.
