Vintage Hill Climb European Championship: Italian round crowns the 2024 champions The 2024 Vintage Hill Climb European Championship drew to an exciting close with the crowning of the champions in the occasion of the last round in Italy. With the end of the season in sight for the competitors, the racing weekend took riders to Saline-Volterra in the heart of Tuscany, for a traditional race with the Italian Championship. Held on the popular course, it ensured an exciting and beautiful end to what had already been an exceptional season of racing. Ready for some exciting action in the Vintage Hill Climb European Championship, riders had a virtual grasp on successfully defending their standings position and fighting for the titles entering the final day of racing. Hill Climb and Vintage Hill Climb European Championship: Germany crowned the Hill Climb 2024 champions Challenging weekend for the final round of the Hill Climb European Championship and the fourth of the Vintage Hill Climb European Championship. The town of Lückendorf, in Germany, hosted a great and thrilling race, on a tough weekend because of the changing weather conditions. On Friday the heavy rain caused a lot of trouble in cleaning the tyres before the start of the practices. Instead, Saturday was a dry and warm day, perfect conditions for practices. Sunday was wet again, with heavy rain over the night. The track at Lückendorf was well-prepared by the organizer: MC Robur Zittau did a great job, offering to teams and riders a challenging event. Hill Climb and Vintage Hill Climb European Championship: Spoleto welcomed the third round After rounds one and two in Austria, the Hill Climb and Vintage Hill Climb European Championship stopped in Italy for the third event of the season. FIM Europe Hill Climb Modern and Vintage The track run over the pass from Spoleto to Forca di Cerro: 1.880 metres through the woodland. 25 riders from 5 different nations took part to the races. Hill Climb and Vintage Hill Climb European Championship: the first round in Austria The atmosphere in Landshaag, Austria, was electric as the first round of the Hill Climb and Vintage Hill Climb European Championship took place thanks to the great organization of the MSC Rottenegg and all the members of the club. During the first two days, Friday and Saturday, a steady and heavy rain was permanently over the town. With the track in increasingly worse conditions, the qualifying sessions had to be cancelled even before the first one was finished. Hill Climb and Vintage Hill Climb European Championship: final round in Italy The final round of the Hill Climb and Vintage Hill Climb European Championship took place in Italy. The track started in Saline and finished in the ancient and well-known city of Volterra, Tuscany. The qualification of the Superbike class saw a rerun of the situation in the previous race in Spoleto with a very close result between the French Jean Luc David and Italian rider Maurizio Bottalico, with a difference of 0,02 seconds in Botallico’s favor. Hill Climb European Championship: Italy hosted round 4 Pictures copyright: Giorgio Panacci The fourth round of the Hill Climb European Championship took place in the beautiful mountains of Umbria region, near the old city of Spoleto, Italy, on a track winding up the mountain to Forca di Cerro. The championship has 5 classes: 250 GP, SuperSport 300, SuperSport 600, SuperBike and SuperMoto. In good weather conditions riders from five different nations faced free practices, qualifying and two races. In 250 GP both races were ruled by Italian rider Guido Testoni, who is leading the championship ahead of Bernard Depierreux, second in Italy, and Rolf Haller, third. Daniele Stolli from Italy won both races of SuperSport 300, increasing the gap in the standings where he is the leader ahead of countrymen Gionata Grassi and Marco Vigilucci. Double win for Maurizio Bottalico in SuperSport 600, while Tiziano Rosati confirmed a double second.

With huge support of local authorities, the event was organized in a very professional background. Big public attendance has seen record braking laptime between three main rivals in Superbike class: Italian Maurizio Botatalico (BMW), French David Jean Luc (Honda) and home hero Andread Gangl (Suzuki). In a sunny spring day at Landshaag, Austria, the series delivered fireworks as 59 riders chase strong start-of-season results and important steps to the championship titles. The organising Club, MSC Rottenegg, and staff from AMF professionally managed 31 riders of the Vintage Championship and 28 of the European Championship for a full day of fights.
