Remembering Fabio Fazi

Remembering Fabio Fazi The FIM Europe is deeply saddened to hear of the passing of Fabio Fazi following a long-term illness. He was member of the FIM International Technical Commission (CTI) since 1983 and Director since 2019, which included a decade as a Technical Member of the FIM Road Racing Commission (2000-2010) and nine years as the Technical Director of the FIM Superbike World Championship (2004-2013). Fabio was born in Ancona, Italy, in 1949 and gained a Masters Degree in Mechanical Engineering at the University of Bologna in 1977. During his extended and flourishing design and engineering career he recorded six FIM World speed records for vehicles 85-100cc alongside Mauro Sanchini and was involved in numerous sporting projects at the highest level. This included Max Biaggi’s Electric Motorcycle Speed record achieved in 1994. The whole FIM Europe wants to express its condolences to his wife and family.

Goodbye friends

Goodbye friends Today, February 23rd 2021, is a very sad day for the FIM Europe family and the whole Motorsport world. Fausto Gresini has lost his battle with Covid-19: he was two-time World Champion in the 125cc class and a key figure in the paddock as founder of the Gresini Team.   We are deeply saddened to hear of the passing of Fiammetta La Guidara too. She has been FIM Europe Press Officer from 2014 to 2018, working with great passion and professionalism for the promotion and communication of European events and competitions. The whole FIM Europe wants to express its condolences to their families. Goodbye Fausto, goodbye Fiammetta. With fond memories always.
