Snowcross European Championship: Gustav Salomonsson triumphed and clinched the title The Snowcross European Championship displayed an amazing show for all the large crowd present in Kirkenes, Norway, together with the FIM Snowcross World Championship and FIM Women’s Snowcross World Cup. In the town, far away behind the arctic circle, polar day has just begun and riders could enjoy light 24 hour a day. The Kirkenes Motorklubb hosted the event celebrating its 20th anniversary and sunshine and freezing temperature kept the 650-meter-long snow track in perfect conditions. Kirkenes was an amazing place for the series, as Snowmobiles are really important for the region as they are one of the prime vehicle choices to move around the region by locals. Snowcross European Championship: Swedish Gustav Sahlsten secures 2021 European title Photo credits: Marko Panula After the cancellation of last year event due to the Covid-19 pandemic, the 2021 FIM Europe Snowcross Championship took place this weekend in Rovaniemi, Finland. The two races were dominated by Swedish rider Gustav Sahlsten, who was unbeatable in final 1 and final 2 races, leading every lap of both heats. In the first race, while Sahlsten took the early lead, he was followed by Sami Huttunen and Emil Mikaelsen, while Gustav Salomonsson was making quick moves through the field to get himself into second by lap three. Pontus Lundström was able to follow Salomonsson to get into third and that’s how the race concluded. In the second heat, Sahlsten led the way from the beginning once again, with Salomonsson and Topi Posti, a young talent from Rovaniemi, right behind. 2019 FIM Europe Snowcross Joins World Championship in Sweden

MONACO (Principality of Monaco) XX February 2019 - Youthstream is happy to announce that the 2019 FIM Europe Snowcross Championship will take place the 5-6th of April alongside the SNX World Championship at the Bodentravet trotting track in Sweden’s northern town of Boden.     Last year the best Snowcross riders in Europe competed in Finland where Pär Vikman dominated the class with perfect race results to take the title. Jonas Laakkonen and Robert Lunden took 3rd and 2nd last year but will likely head to Sweden this April for their chance to take the title of European Champion from Vikman! The 2018 FIM Snowcross World Championship is in the books from the Levi Ski Center in Kittilä, Finland. The best Snowcross riders in the world joined up with the Women’s Snowcross World Cup and the European Snowcross Championship for epic racing on the slopes of Levi today. The first race of the European Championship was predominately led by Pär Vikman with Sami Huttunenin second the first 8 laps. Robert Lunden started 4th but, after he dropped to 5th the first lap, worked his way forward into 2nd by lap 9. As Lunden surged forward Huttunenin dropped to 6th position. Lunden soon applied pressure to Vikman and then took over the lead on lap 14. Vikman followed the new leader for 3 laps before mounting a charge and passing Lunden back. Across the finish Vikman took a well deserved race win with Lunden second and Jonas Laakkonen 3rd. Race 2 started

FIM Europe is delighted to announce that the 2018 European Snowcross Championship will again be combined with the FIM World Championship and will again be promoted by Youthstream. The event will now be on Friday and Saturday 4th and 5th May at the Levi Ski Centre near Kittila in Northern Finland. Snow conditions at this time of the year are expected to be excellent and there will be about 14 hours or more of daylight. The event is open to riders over 16 years old on Pro-stock machines and will consist of 2 points scoring races to decide the 2018 European Snowcross champion. “I’m very happy to see this event once again combined with the World Championship and I wish to thank Youthstream, the SML and the organiser for their cooperation and assistance», stated Mr Eddie Herd, Chairman of the European Motocross and Snowcross Commission. European Snowcross at Alvsbyn, Sweden

Alvsbyn is a white paradise with its beautiful landscape, high mountains, deep forests and rivers. You can marvel at the Northern lights, go fishing, ice climbing and doing snowmobile safari here. It is one of the smallest cities in the Swedish Lapland, but it features some of its most magnificent nature. Here the European Snowcross Championship was held, with a sunny day on Friday and snow on Saturday, and temperatures of 2 degrees below zero in both days and in front of around 1.000 spectators in the weekend. The race was organized in combination with the FIM World Snowcross Championship and the FIM Women’s Snowcross World Cup. The European Snowcross riders were 27. The track had very good technical characteristic: it was very well prepared and with good maintenances all over the weekend. The city of Alta, in Norway, is above the Arctic Circle and is famous for ice fishing (especially salmon-fishing) and a ski area is close to the city, which has a population of 20,000 people. Alta hosted the European Snowcross Championship for the third time (the latest was in 2009). In a light rain, with 2-4 C°, a very well prepared, technical track hosted the European Championship together with the last race of World Championship; the ESNX riders were 16, and they raced in front of approximately 2.000 spectators.The Qualifying Practice was dominated by Robert Lunden (Ski-Doo) from Norway, in front of Martin Moland (Artic Cat) from Norway, too, and Hansson Emil (Polaris) from Sweden.Race1, on Friday afternoon, saw many fights, but not in the first positions; in fact the Norvegian Martin Moland did the holeshot and lead all the race long with a big
