EMX Quad European Championship: Turrini takes the title Pictures copyright: WSC After four events raced in Estonia, Poland, Ireland and Great Britain, the fifth and final round of the EMX Quad European Championship was raced in the Czech Republic. Here the dream became true for Patrick Turrini (Yamaha). The young Italian talented rider arrived to this last challenge in Loket with an advantage of 17 points on his direct opponent Karl Robin Rillo, but the challenge for the title already finished even before starting as the Estonian rider did not take part to the race. Without the direct challenge between these two top riders, Turrini took his first European title. In hot Loket the new Champion easily faced the two races, after finishing third in qualifying. EMX Quad European Championship: Walker and Turrini share victories in mixed conditions at Cusses Gorse Pictures copyright: WSC After last weekend’s race in Ireland, fourth and next to last round of the EMX Quad European Championship has been hosted at Cusses Gorse Circuit in Aylesbury, Great Britain. Race 1 A fine drizzle hovered over the Cusses Gorse circuit prior to the race which dampened the track almost perfectly, but did not dampen the spirits of the British crowd as local riders #7 Harry Walker and #919 Mark McLernon taking the second and third gate pick, with the Italian #15 Patrick Turrini having first choice, opting for the inside gate. The gates slammed down and 21 riders stormed uphill toward the tight left-hand turn, with #5 Dafydd Davies claiming the holeshot with a marginal advantage over McLernon. EMX Quad European Championship: Karl Robin Rillo is the new leader after round three in Northern Ireland Pictures copyright: WSC Third round of the EMX Quad European Championship was held this weekend in Northern Ireland in Redbrae Park, an international event run together with the Sidecarcross GP, which has returned here after 43 years. Qualifications were run on Friday and it was British rider Mark McLernon (Yamaha) who won the qualifying race. Heavy hitters of the Championship, Italian Patrick Turrini (Yamaha) and Estonian Karl Robin Rillo (Yamaha), which were tied in points as leaders of the Championship after the first two events could only finish 4th and 6th respectively, not finding immediately the optimal setup needed for this traditional British motocross track. EMX Quad European Championship: Turrini rules round 2 The second round of the EMX Quad European Championship took place in Gdansk. The city is situated on the Baltic coast of northern Poland and is the principal seaport and the country's fourth-largest metropolitan area. 19 riders from 8 nations fought for victory. The weekend saw the fight between Estonian Karl Robin Rillo and Italian Patrick Turrini, who ruled the free practice and the qualifying. They put on a show both in Race1 and in Race2, sharing the victory. If Rillo won the first heat, Turrini ruled the second one from the start to the end. Great battle for the third step of the podium: Roman Gwiazda and Oliver Sansom were both third and fourth, but thanks to the P3 in the second race, Gwiazda took the third overall.
