Bajas European Championship: Baja TT Sharish Gin Baja TT Sharish Gin in Reguengos de Monsaraz – Mourão, Portugal, was the perfect scenario for round one of the Bajas European Championship. The race got underway together with the Portuguese National Championship and FIA European Cup for Cross-Country Bajas. Three days event on dry routes and hard gravel roads through the magnificent terrain around Reguengos de Monsaraz, Maurao, Redondo, on both sides of the beautiful artificial Alqueva Lake, and just a sight from Monsaraz Castle. The schedule foresaw on Friday one Prologue of 27,87 km, on Saturday one Selective Section (SS) of 160,81 km and on Sunday one Selective Section (SS) of 116,92 km. Bajas European Championship: Baja TT do Oeste After a relatively short break, the third and last round of the Bajas European Championship was raced from October 06th to 08th in occasion of the Baja TT do Oeste, official event for the Mini Baja Trophy and, internationally, for the FIM Bajas World Cup. The public took advantage of the good weather over the weekend to visit the tracks, enjoying a huge spectacle with the high participation of drivers from different nationalities. The Baja Oeste de Portugal took place on tracks designed in the municipalities of Torres Vedras, Bombarral, Azambuja, Alenquer, Óbidos, Sobral de Monte Agraço and Cadaval, the latter being home to the operations center for the Baja TT Oeste de Portugal organized by Escuderia Castelo Branco. Bajas European Championship: the first event gets under way in Spain Round one of the Bajas European Championship got under way together with the FIM Bajas World Cup, the Spanish National Championship and FIA European Cup for Cross-Country Bajas. Three days event through magnificent Badajoz, Alconchel, Santa Marta, Cheles and Zahinos cities, surrounded by Gwadiana river, natural border between Portugal and Spain. The schedule saw Friday’s Prologue of 5,90 km along Gwadiana River, Saturday two Selective Section (SS) of 133 km and 201 km, Sunday two Selective Section (SS) of 79 km and 76 km. Total length of the race: 495 km of SS and additional 487 km. Portuguese rider David Megre won ahead of Spanish Juan Jesús Sánchez and Freud González. Bajas European Championship: Baja TT Sharish Gin The last seasonal event of the Bajas European Championship took place together with the Baja TT Sharish Gin, raced in Reguengos des Monsarez and Maurao, Portugal, in the last weekend of September. The race took place in the Alentejo region, well-known for wine and olives: 3 days of action with a prologue test of 9,25 km on Friday, two sections of 65 km and 150 km on Saturday and again the section of 150 km on Sunday. After 500 km on hard gravel roads and terrain around Monsarez Castle and Alqueva lake, the Portuguese riders ruled the race, making the challenge for the standings even more thrilling. Bajas European Championship: Baja do Oeste After opening round in Badajoz, Spain, the Bajas European Championship moved to Portugal for the second seasonal round. The Baja do Oeste de Portugal took place in the beautiful location of Torres Vedras. The event was held on three days, from May 6th to 8th on a technical route. After the Prologue of 6 km on Friday, on Saturday riders faced two Selective Sections (SS) of 144,75 km and 81,69 km, while on Sunday one Selective Section (SS) of 160,77 km, completing almost 630 km. Bajas European Championship: Baja TT Capital dos Vinhos de Portugal Second challenge of the season for the the Bajas European Championship with the well-known Baja TT Capital dos Vinhos de Portugal. The race took place in the centre of Portugal, along the Spanish border, in an area of ​​long plains and great wine production next to the largest water mirror on the Iberian Peninsula, the Alqueva Lake. The race started with a Specialtest prologue 5,5 km long and continued on Saturday and Sunday with a route of 144 km per day.
