The Italian Motorcycle Federation celebrates the 2019 World Environment Day

The Italian Motorcycle Federation celebrates the 2019 World Environment Day Saturday 8th of June during the 3rd round of the Coppa Italia road racing competition, 7 olive trees were planted in the green entrance area to Vallelunga circuit’s grandstands to celebrate the 2019 World Environmental Day and according with the 2019 motto “Green The Blue – Beat Air Pollution”. The decision on the number of trees to be planted was taken after calculating the amount of CO2 emitted into the air during the event and assessed the absorption capacity of each trees planted. The availability of the Vallelunga racetrack in the figures of the Director Alfredo Scala and collaborators and the president of the motorcycle club Gentleman’s Claudio Gregori is commendable The ceremony was attended by Ing. Celebrate the World Environmental Day Dear friends, tomorrow will be the World Environmental Day. The entire human community is called to do something to show the commitment with the preservation of our planet and leave to our descendent a place in which live in the best possible way. This year’s motto is “GREEN THE BLUE”, beat air pollution. As done in my previous press release, I invite all of you to celebrate the WED tomorrow and during the events of the weekend. There are many ways to do it: reduce the running of the engines of our bikes, planting trees, reduce the consumption of energy, etc. Choose your way to demonstrate your commitment and share it with us. FIM Europe – FEMA meeting

FIM Europe – FEMA meeting The 15th of May FIM Europe and FEMA met in Roma Fiumicino. The main purpose was to update the position papers presented in June 2017 during the FIM Europe Congress in Rome. On the actual 11 papers, the meeting has decided to consider two new items that came to the attention recently: ISA (Intelligent Speed Assistance or Adaptation) and PLEV (Personal Light Electric Vehicles). These will be presented in July during the FIM Europe Congress in Zagreb. To guarantee a proper understanding in between the two Associations at least a once a year meeting has been planned. FIM Europe Non-Sporting Council in Rome Fiumicino (Italy)

On Saturday 19th January, the FIM Europe Non-Sporting Council was held in Rome/Fiumicino (Italy), following  the Non-Sporting Commission Meetings: the Environment Commission chaired by Mr. Adamo Leonzio,  the Touring Commission  chaired by Mr. Nils Freivalds, the Public Affairs Commission chaired by Mr. Dimitris Margaritis and the Marketing, Promotion & Industry Commission chaired by Mr. Blagoja Petrovski. The work has progressed smoothly and the results were shared and discussed together with the 2nd Deputy President,  Mr. Silvio Manicardi. Mr. Manicardi quote: “Some of the points discussed during the Commission meetings have a high interest for the  good and smooth progress of our activities. I hope that all our world will follow closely the changes that are occurring, in order to be ready to tackle new possible challenges”. The Road Safety Congress is scheduled to start today at 16.30 from the FIM Europe Congress in Nantes (France) and will be broadcasted in live streaming from 16.30 at the following link: http://ffmoto.attwm.fr/. The topic of this year’s Road Safety Conference will be: “Electric Mobility: from Racing to Riding the Roads”, dealing with the development of electronics and technology. FIM Europe Environment Commission Meeting in Warsaw (Poland)

The first meeting of the year of the FIM Europe Environment Commission was held last weekend in Warsaw (Poland). On Friday, the Commission made a revue of the activity of the Commission itself during the second part of the 2017 and the two first months of 2018 analysing the visit in site, the situation with the online check list program and the Green Class held during the FIM CIE Seminar in Frankfurt and Rome. The FIM Europe Environment Commision, chaired by Adamo Leonzio Moreover, to continue the change of the Commission objective, from control to proposal and help, the new program called “What’s new in Environment” was deeply analysed. The Commission decided to concentrate in this program all the news in environment with a technical value and to start with a new project called “Environmental Highlights” dedicated to all the activities related to the environment made by organizers, Federations, and other

FIM Europe at the FIM and FIVA new meeting in Rome (Italy)

In the last days at the FIM Europe headquarters in Rome (Italy) the third meeting was held between FIM (Fédération Internationale de Motocyclisme) and FIVA (Fédération Internationale des Véhicules Anciens). These meetings have the purpose to promote the collaboration between the two organisations both at World and European level. FIM Europe was present at the meeting with Silvio Manicardi, FIM Europe Second Deputy president. From the left Palmino Poli, Chairman of FIVA Motorcycle Commission, Panagiotis Kalaitzis, Member of FIM Touring and Leisure Commission, Natasa Jerina, FIVA Motorcycle Commission General Secretary, Bjorn A. Hvaleby, member of the FIVA Motorcycle Commission, and Silvio Manicardi, FIM Europe Second Deputy President Many items have been discussed, and the progresses were analysed, deriving from the cooperation of the associations, in particular about the participation to the respective events, considering that the swapping of information creates a stronger presence of historical PTW in the political world.

FIM Europe Road Safety Conference – Live Streaming

Tomorrow at 14.00 there will be the live-streaming of the General Assembly. Both the videos of the Road Safety Conference and of the General Assembly will be then available for free on demand on FIM Europe website. As usual, particular attention will be given to Safety and today the 11th edition of the Road Safety Conference will be held, which traditionally takes place yearly during the FIM Europe Congress. The topic of this year’s conference will be: “Sharing the road with Robots: when Motorcycling Meets Automation”, dealing with the development of electronics and technology. Meeting FIM Europe with ADAC in Vienna

A meeting was held on 2 March at the brand-new modern headquarters of OEAMTC (Oesterreichischer Automobil-, Motorrad- und Touringclub) in Vienna between top representatives from ADAC (Allgemeiner Deutscher Automobil-Club e.V.) and FIM Europe, following the last meeting held in November 2014 in Munich. From left: FIM Europe President Wolfgang Srb, ADAC Sports President Hermann Tomczyk, Director of Motorsport and Classic Thomas Voss, Head of Motorcycle Racing and Motorcycle Coordination Dieter Porsch Various areas of cooperation have been discussed as well as a general evaluation of current activities in Road Racing, Motocross, Supercross, SuperMoto, Track Racing, Enduro and Trial was carried out.
