Trial European Championship: Grattarola, Mempor and Soulier rule in Monza Matteo Grattarola Matteo Grattarola (Sembenini Nils Redmoto Montesa), Marco Mempor (Beta) and Andrea Soulier (Beta) the “quickest” into the Monza circuit! It seems a paradox but the second round of this Trials season was real organized inside the famous racetrack of Monza. It was already happened 20 years ago for a round of the Italian championship. Then environmentalists protested for what the trial bikes damaged in this huge green park. The Moto Club Monza had to pay fines, so any further organization was discouraged. Only now after this long period, the Trials was back in this wonderful place, with many attentions, hoping to start a new era. Of course a lot of sections were indoor-style but the loop was short and being the admission free, we finally saw more spectators willing to watch the event. Marco Mempor In the Championship

Yes, Trials inside one of the most known circuit in the world. It was possible thanks to the great job done by local club (Monza) in bringing rocks, logs and anything else to build up a such good level competition. Nevertheless the rain dropped the day before, a warm sunny day welcomed the 74 riders split in 4 classes. In the twos that count for the championship both winners one week ago confirmed themselves with strong performances. Pau Martinez Martinez did not dominate as in Pietramurata, because he found in British Jack Dance (Gas Gas) a convincing opponent. Only one point separated Martinez from Dance

Trial European Championship: the second round in Monza One week after the first round  of the  2019 FIM Europe Trials Championship, here is soon the second one, inside the famous racetrack of Monza: a championship that seems not knowing any crisis. More than 150 riders populated the venue of Pietramurata and more or less the same are expected to attend this two-day event. As happened in the last week-end on Saturday the competition is reserved to Women and Youths, while on Sunday there will be riders belonging to Championship, Junior and Over 40 classes. It passed 20 years from the last time the local club (Monza) organized a Trials competition inside the circuit. In 1999 it was a round of Italian championship. The chairman of the club, Damiano Cavaglieri, said that the sections are almost in the same places , of course with the appropriate level necessary for the European

In the main class, former champion Grattarola, despite of his age, kept behind the long list of hardened aspirants, all younger than him. Smooth difference at the end: just one point less than Gabriel Marcelli (Montesa), 14 against 15 that means these two's had an unbelievable riding on the 15 sections to be repeat twice. In third, but leader at the turning point, Ariol Gelabert (Scorpa), who fought with the mentioned two's  until three sections from the end. Failing section 13, he finished a bit distant scoring 21 points, but the situation was on a razor's edge for the whole competition.

Trial European Championship: Youth and Women Pietramurata's race Pau Martinez Spanish Pau Martinez (Vertigo) and Italian Alex Brancati (Beta) on top respectively in Youth and Women championship  classes in Pietramurata, Italy, first round of the FIM Europe Trial Championship. Dry terrain with the usual poor grip due to small rocks everywhere: this is the main feature of all the trials organized in the Trial Park of Pietramurata, and even this time sections resulted tricked for everybody. Martinez - after a first lap of studying this different soil -got confidence enough to assure a clear victory, scoring almost half points of runner-up British Jack Dance (Gas Gas): 42 against 72. More uncertain the situation behind the new Spaniard star. An other British's, Ben Dignan (Gas Gas) ended in third , two marks more than Dance and ahead of many riders separated by smooth gaps. It is the first time that 3 riders belonging to the same country triumph in all the three classes. What better place than the old area of Bilstain to celebrate this unusual event! Grattarola clinched his third Continental title and all on different bikes. In 2008 he gained the Junior Cup riding a Sherco 125cc, in 2012 he topped the Europe class on Gas Gas and now he brought home the 2018 title on a Montesa 4 stroke prepared by the Sembenini Nils team. Everything according to forecasts in the first day in Bilstain (Belgium), during the fifth and final round of the European Women’s and Youths’ Championships. Titles were assigned to two Spanish riders: Berta Abellan (Vertigo, photo 1) and Martin Riobo (Gas Gas). More than seventy riders honoured these series taking part in this last round, even if not directly interested to place themselves in the high positions. The old and famous private area of Bilstain continues to reserve a particular appeal to all the Trial World, because also new generations know through tales and documents how many pages of history have been written on these rocks. Berta Abellan closed her championship with a victory, but she had hard time to get it. Only in the second part of the competition she recovered from a provisional third place, having scored 8 points. Better than her Norwegian Ingveig Hakonsen (TRS), whose score was

European Trial Championship at Bilstain (Belgium) – Preview

bertaAbellan0
The curtain is going to close on 2018 FIM Europe Championships and Cups in one of the most famous venue in the Trial world; the private area of Bilstain in Belgium, theater of important world events in the Eighties. Lately back in the scene as last year with two different rounds of the same championship, Bilstain is again ready to give its support. The place is very convenient for spectators: it is possible to watch all the sections in almost one square km and the big natural rocks – where the sections are drawn - are always challenging enough to ensure a high quality show. This year all the classes are going to be present. On Saturday Women and Youths, on Sunday Europe, Junior and Over40. Following the chronological order, the best trial female riders will be the first to start. Spanish Berta Abellan (Vertigo, photo1) seems to be very

European Trial Championship at Santo Stefano d’Aveto (Italy) – Day 2

matteoGrattarola
Italian Matteo Grattarola (Sembenini Montesa, photo1) won the fourth round of the FIM Europe Trial Championship and he is very close to be crowned, as his leadership increased to 75 points with one round left. French Kieran Touly (Sherco, photo2) and Italian Piero Sembenini (Montesa, photo3) triumphed in Junior and Over 40 classes. In the hottest days of the year, all the European riders appreciated the fresh breeze that Santo Stefano d'Aveto – a small village at almost 1000 mt on sea level, chosen for this penultimate round - offered. Grattarola - as we already announced - did not like easy sections and never as today he grasped the victory for a while and due to a big mistake of English Dan Peace (Gas Gas), able to control the situation until the last section of the last lap. Peace rode very well in the whole competition. He was leading at
