Victor Arbekov passed away

Victor Arbekov
Victor Arbekov, the 1965 250cc Motocross World Champion, passed away on the early morning of February, 18 at the age of 74. FIM Europe received the sad news as well as the text below from the Motorcycle Federation of Russia. "Victor Arbekov, honored master of sports, honored coach of the USSR, the First USSR Motocross World champion. At the age of 17 he won the USSR championship in the 125 cc. Next year he repeated his success. At the age of 19, being already master of sports and a famous motocross rider, he was drafted into the army; he was in the CSKA team. From 1961 to 1968 he was a member of the USSR team. In 1965 on a motorcycle CZ-250 Victor Arbekov won the gold medal of the World Championship and became the first Russian rider, who won the title of World Champion. Then his main competitor, the

The EMX250 championship is open to motorcycles between 175cc and 250cc for both 4 stroke and 2 stroke powered engines. This will make the European motocross most important championship extremely interesting with the introduction of equal capacities for the 2 strokes and 4 strokes. 2. The 2016 Women's Cup is now upgraded to an official European championship for 2017 consisting of 4 rounds in Denmark, Poland, Germany and Latvia. 3. The Motocross of European Nations combined with the Women's Motocross of European Nations will be organised in 2017 at Gdansk in Poland on 2/3 September and the Sidecarcross of European Nations combined with the Quadcross of European Nations will be organised at Cingoli in

EMX 65 & EMX 85 NE and Open at St. Petersburg (Russia)

The EMX 65, 85 North East zone and EMX Open European Championship was held this weekend in Saint-Petersburg, Russia, in extremely hot weather conditions.On Saturday the 74 riders in 3 classes participated to the qualifications. In EMX 85 Estonian Meico Vettik snatched the pole position. He was followed by Russian Svyatoslav Pronenko and by Latvian Kristians Freimanis. In EMX 65 the championship leader Eduards Bidzans did the pole position. He was followed by Russian Kirill Vorobyev and by Latvian Aleksis Araids.In Open class the pole position was taken by Russian Semen Rogozin, who was followed by his compatriots Ivan Baranov and Alexandr Efimov.The race day was held on Sunday, the races were held on a well prepared track.EMX 85The first heat was won by the yesterday’s poleman, Estonian Meico Vettik. He was followed by the Latvian Kristians Freimanis and Russian Svyatoslav Pronenko.In the second heat Kristains Freimanis took the win.

TEUTSCHENTHAL (Germany) -  Temperatures were almost perfect here at the classic Talkessel circuit, where round five of the European Championship EMX250 took place. To the delight of the German crowd that flooded the awesome venue here in Teutschenthal, Rockstar Energy Suzuki Europe’s Brian Hsu stood on the podium for the first time in his career while Apico Husqvarna’s Steven Clarke, the defending EMX250 champion, also hit a career milestone with his first ever overall victory.A few spanners were thrown in the works today with the drop of the gate. Alex Dimitrov, winner of the EMX85 in the latest round of SE Zone, in Sliven, Bulgaria The Croatian Motorcycle Federation (HMS) announces that the round of EMX65 and 85 cc South-East zone scheduled in Mladina (Croatia) on 13 and 14th June has been cancelled. The EMX Open will be regularly held in the same date and racetrack.

Motocross European SE 65 cc and 85 cc Championship in Bulgaria

On the 2nd of May the Bulgarian city of Troyan hosted the qualifying sessions of the 2nd round of the SE European MX65 and MX85 Championship. On this beautiful, perfect prepared track, fifteen 65cc and eighteen 85cc boys met for a fighting weekend. The qualifying heats of EMX65 showed in the first positions three riders from different nationalities: Moldavian Cuharciuc, Roumenian Popovici and Bulgarian Grozdanov. In EMX85 the Bulgarians Dimitrov and Georgiev were followed by the Croatien Hranic.The qualifying race in EMX85 started with slight rain. At the start Georgiev crashed, while he was second. Hranic and Dimitrov were fighting for two laps, changing position all the time. Dimitrov was leading the pack untill the end although Hranic was closing up at the end and finished only 2 seconds later. The unlucky Georgiev managed to finish in 3th position.
