Albie Wilkie new European Champion in EMX150 in Lommel (Belgium)

fim europe
Jere Haavisto followed his win in yesterday’s race with another dominant performance today to take the overall Grand Prix victory, but it was Brit Albie Wilkie who had the biggest smile at the chequered flag as he was crowned the 2014 Honda 150 European Champion. Just five points separated the two contenders coming into today’s race so it was always going to be a close-run affair. As Haavisto rode away from the field to take his fifth race win of the season, all eyes were on Wilkie as he fought towards the front from sixth position. In a repeat of yesterday, it was Wilkie versus Rick Elzinga for second place, but this time the championship title was at stake. A third place wasn’t enough for Wilkie; he had to finish second. As Jere disappeared into the distance, able to do no more to strengthen his chances of overhauling Albie in

Bernardini new European Champion in EMX300 in Lommel (Belgium)

fim europe
We’ve reached the seventh and final round of the European Championship EMX300 series and the sound of twenty-six 300cc two strokes ripping around a track still sounds as mint as it did at the first round of the championship back in April this year. When the gates dropped for the final race of the season, the newly crowned EMX300 champion TM Racing Team’s Samuele Bernardini carried that same momentum he’s been carrying all championship long around turn one with yet another holeshot. Although it appeared the Italian would check out as he set the fastest lap of the race on lap one putting a three second cushion on yesterday’s fastest rider GL12 Racing’s Lewis Gregory, he threw it away with a high side on lap two which dropped him back to tenth. Gregory exhibiting that same aggression and intensity he showed in race one yesterday afternoon was quick to capitalize

Clarke new European Champion in EMX250 in Lommel (Belgium)

fim europe
With eight different race winners and five different round winners this season, the seventh and final round here in the savage sand of Lommel delivered what was the most intense and dramatic yet exhilarating end to what was easily the best ever season of European Championship EMX250 racing. With the championship being more or less narrowed down to two riders heading into the final race of the championship, the red plate holder CNC Doors KTM’s Steven Clarke and HSF Logistics Motorsport Team’s Brian Bogers carried the weight of the world on their shoulders. When the gate fell for the last time this season, the guy trailing the championship leader Clarke by eleven points coming in, Brian Bogers, stole the holeshot immediately sending both the crowd and pit-lane into turmoil. While most eyes were on the positions of Bogers and Clarke, it was Kemea Yamaha Racing’s Nick Kouwenberg actually stole the

Who knew Swede’s were so fast in the sand? As of now, everyone knows after the dominating performance of Mafi Yamaha MX Team’s Alvin Östlund who rode impressively in the sandy chop of Lommel this weekend to go 1-1 for his first two moto victories of the year as well as his first ever EMX125 round victory. Although it was Östlund who took the cake this weekend, you can’t take anything away from the challenge in race two. Diga Racing’s young Latvian star on the rise Tomass Sileika took the holeshot and led the opening laps of the race, while an abundance of riders tailed him. With the entire top eight literally riding wheel to wheel around what is possibly the toughest circuit imaginable for a 125cc bike, the sand masters eventually emerged. While early race leader Sileika battled to keep his KTM 125 rubber side down, Dutchman Bas Vaessen

EMX150 Motocross European Championship in Loket (Czech Republic)

fim europe
Albie Wilkie took his fourth race win and his third consecutive overall Grand Prix victory in the Honda 150 European Championship in the Czech Republic today with a dominant ride. He took the early lead with a great start on his CRF150R and then never looked back, delivering a succession of fastest laps to steam away from the pack in a class of his own. Combined with his second place finish in yesterday’s race, he takes the overall victory in the Honda 150 European Championship at the MXGP of the Czech Republic. In a reversal of yesterday’s race, this time it was championship rival Jere Haavisto who had the comeback to make after he crashed on the first corner and found himself in 14th. Fighting back through the pack, he minimised the points-damage of Wilkie’s win by finishing an impressive second, just ahead of Albin Larsen who took his fourth

EMX125 in Loket (Czech Republic)

fim europe
It was a test of the best for the riders who lined up here in Czech Republic for the penultimate round of the European Championship EMX125 with the battlefield being steep and very hard packed. After dominating both races for his third consecutive overall victory, Rockstar Energy Suzuki Europe’s Brian Hsu proved to be the master of throttle control, body position and balance today as the rest of his competition strove to find traction up and down the hills of Loket on their light and nimble 125cc two stroke machines. In race one yesterday afternoon, Rockstar Energy Suzuki Europe’s Brian Hsu deemed war as he stormed his way to his third consecutive race win to take over the EMX125 championship points lead. Mafi Yamaha MX Team’s Alvin Östlund was on the cable for second with Team Yamaha MJC’s David Herbreteau rounding out the top three. When the gates fell for

EMX250 and EMX350 rounds in Hyvinkaa (Finland)

fim europe
The sixth round of the EMX250 and EMX300 Motocross European Championships were held this weekend in the Finnish track of Hyvinkää. Next round for both classes is scheduled in Dutch track of Lommer on the 3rd of August. EMX250Sand always throws a spanner in the works, as it requires a type of motocrossing finesse to ride. With today being the semi-final round of the EMX250 championship, and the final being in the dunes of Lommel in three weeks time, the Dutch riders, known for their superior sand riding ability, took full advantage of banking crucial championship points. Yesterday, Creymert Racing’s Brent Van Doninck banked his first lot of twenty-five points when he took the checkers ahead of HSF Logistics Motorsport Team’s Brian Bogers and Kemea Yamaha Racing’s Nick Kouwenberg. When the gates dropped for race two, the sand was a little deeper and a lot gnarlier than yesterday which played

Final of EMX65 and EMX85 in Hyvinkaa (Finland)

fim europe
After the 4 regional qualification rounds, the final of the EMX65 and EMX85 Motocross European Championship was held in the Finnish circuit in Hyvinkää, which embodies one of the most mentally and physically demanding terrains in our sport, sand. Young Russian Nikita Kucherov was crowned as the new European Champion in the EMX65. Watching those little 12” wheels tearing through the sand on a full blown MXGP circuit was astonishing, as was the speed and poise of the eventual EMX65 champion Nikita Kucherov from Russia who rode impressive in both races to be crowned champion with a second place in race one and a win in race two this morning. Landing on the second step of the podium, young Swede Noel Nilsson was clearly the fastest kid on the track. He isn’t afraid to ride on the edge which worked both for and against him this weekend when he cartwheeled
