Road Racing Hill Climbing EC round in St. Denis (Switzerland)

The third round with two races of the Road Racing Hill Climb European Championship was held this weekend at Chatel - St. Denis in Swiss. This event was held for the second time in Switzerland. On Saturday, the weather conditions was cloudy and later rain. Afternoon was strong rain and the practice on Sunday morning must be delayed for one hour. EMX250 and EMX350 rounds in Hyvinkaa (Finland)

The sixth round of the EMX250 and EMX300 Motocross European Championships were held this weekend in the Finnish track of Hyvinkää. Next round for both classes is scheduled in Dutch track of Lommer on the 3rd of August. EMX250Sand always throws a spanner in the works, as it requires a type of motocrossing finesse to ride. With today being the semi-final round of the EMX250 championship, and the final being in the dunes of Lommel in three weeks time, the Dutch riders, known for their superior sand riding ability, took full advantage of banking crucial championship points. Yesterday, Creymert Racing’s Brent Van Doninck banked his first lot of twenty-five points when he took the checkers ahead of HSF Logistics Motorsport Team’s Brian Bogers and Kemea Yamaha Racing’s Nick Kouwenberg. Final of EMX65 and EMX85 in Hyvinkaa (Finland)

After the 4 regional qualification rounds, the final of the EMX65 and EMX85 Motocross European Championship was held in the Finnish circuit in Hyvinkää, which embodies one of the most mentally and physically demanding terrains in our sport, sand. Young Russian Nikita Kucherov was crowned as the new European Champion in the EMX65. Watching those little 12” wheels tearing through the sand on a full blown MXGP circuit was astonishing, as was the speed and poise of the eventual EMX65 champion Nikita Kucherov from Russia who rode impressive in both races to be crowned champion with a second place in race one and a win in race two this morning. Landing on the second step of the podium, young Swede Noel Nilsson was clearly the fastest kid on the track. FIM Europe 8th Road Safety Conference

The 20th FIM Europe Congress in Cracow hosted the 8th edition of Road Safety Conference. The event traditionally combines with the Continental Union Congress, and every year a different subject matter is illustrated. After dealing with the themes of road incidentality, of industry responses and initiatives, of the systems to improve Road Safety, on traumatic injuries and first aid, of 2-wheeler behaviour and safety, of roadside barriers and crash tests, this year the Road Safety Conference dealt with themes related with Safety concepts and devices derived from Track, such as airbag for motorcyclists. The main aim was to demonstrate how the experience of the track can be transferred to improve road safety in everyday's use. The conference was held under the auspices Silvio Manicardi, chairman of FIM Europe Marketing Commission, and of Jean-Pierre Moreau, Chairman of Public Affairs Commission. Changes to 2014 FIM Europe Sporting Calendar

The Motoball European Championship, scheduled from the 25th to the 31st of August in Tikhoretsk (Krasnodar region, Russia), was cancelled this year due to the announcement of the teams of France, Netherlands and Lithuania of their intention not to participate to the 2014 edition. The German team also canceled the participation of the event for this year. The organisers announced, however, that the Championship will be regularly held in 2015 on the Tikhoretsk venue. --- The 2014 edition of the Trans Carpatic rally, valid also as European Cup, scheduled on from the 2nd to the 8th of August in Romania, has been cancelled.     Download here FIM Europe Press Release 112/2014

First final of the Individual Speedway EC in Guestrow (Germany)

The first Final of the 2014 FIM Europe Speedway European Championship (SEC) took part in Guestrow (Germany) on a very warm and sunny evening of the 6th of July 2014. Nearly 8.000 spectators in a "sold-out" stadium have seen very spectacular and hard speedway races on a high sporting level. The SEC Final has been broadcasted live by EUROSPORT all over the world and was a perfect advertising for European Speedway sport. The victory went to Nicki Pedersen / Denmark followed by his fellowman Peter Kildemand / Denmark and Janus Kolodziej / Poland. Day 2 of Trial EC in Krzesowice (Poland)

FIM President Vito Ippolito and newly elected FIME President Wolfgang Srb were amongst several VIP's who visited the Polish round of the Women and Youth European Trial Championship in Krzeszowice yesterday. They were treated to some excellent competition in all classes. The women's championship is now tied at the top. Following her victory today, Theresa Bauml is now on 270 championship points along with fellow German Ina Wilde who was second today. The first 4 places were taken by German riders with Bianca Huber taking the third step on the podium ahead of Sarah Bauer and Italian Sara Trentini who remains in third place in the Championship. The Youth riders showed some tremendous talent and despite the Jury and organisers making some sections harder they managed to lose less marks than the previous day. The second round of the European Drag Bike Championship was held at Alastaro, Finland. The race was well attended by spectators who saw a good race in excellent weather. Three classes were represented: Top Fuel Bike (5 Riders), Super Twin Bike (11 Riders) and Pro Stock Bike (6 Riders). Wolfgang Srb is the new FIM Europe President

The 20th FIM Europe Congress held at the Sheraton Hotel in Crakow was the occasion for the election of the new FIM Europe President. Two were the candidates for the leadership of the Continental Union that groups 47 Federations: Wolfgang Glas from Germany and Wolfgang Srb from Austria. With a large majority, it was Wolfgang Srb to be elected: 63 votes against 12. The Congress counted the largest number of Federations ever present, with 43 FMNs out of 47, for a total of 76 disposable votes and a quorum of 39 (34 federations had 2 votes, 8 federations disposed of 1 vote and one federation had no vote). EMX300 in Uddevalla (Sweden)

Getting the power to the ground on any kind of two-stroke is always a little more difficult than on a four-stroke, and with a track as slick and as edgy as Uddevalla, the boys were sure to be put to the test. In race one TM Racing Team’s Samuele Bernardini took a convincing win ahead of Team Maddii Racing’s Marco Maddii while Wilvo Forkrent KTM’s Kenny Van Dueren took his second podium place finish of the year in third.
