Albie Wilkie new European Champion in EMX150 in Lommel (Belgium)

fim europe
Jere Haavisto followed his win in yesterday’s race with another dominant performance today to take the overall Grand Prix victory, but it was Brit Albie Wilkie who had the biggest smile at the chequered flag as he was crowned the 2014 Honda 150 European Champion. Just five points separated the two contenders coming into today’s race so it was always going to be a close-run affair. As Haavisto rode away from the field to take his fifth race win of the season, all eyes were on Wilkie as he fought towards the front from sixth position. In a repeat of yesterday, it was Wilkie versus Rick Elzinga for second place, but this time the championship title was at stake. A third place wasn’t enough for Wilkie; he had to finish second. As Jere disappeared into the distance, able to do no more to strengthen his chances of overhauling Albie in

Bernardini new European Champion in EMX300 in Lommel (Belgium)

fim europe
We’ve reached the seventh and final round of the European Championship EMX300 series and the sound of twenty-six 300cc two strokes ripping around a track still sounds as mint as it did at the first round of the championship back in April this year. When the gates dropped for the final race of the season, the newly crowned EMX300 champion TM Racing Team’s Samuele Bernardini carried that same momentum he’s been carrying all championship long around turn one with yet another holeshot. Although it appeared the Italian would check out as he set the fastest lap of the race on lap one putting a three second cushion on yesterday’s fastest rider GL12 Racing’s Lewis Gregory, he threw it away with a high side on lap two which dropped him back to tenth. Gregory exhibiting that same aggression and intensity he showed in race one yesterday afternoon was quick to capitalize

Clarke new European Champion in EMX250 in Lommel (Belgium)

fim europe
With eight different race winners and five different round winners this season, the seventh and final round here in the savage sand of Lommel delivered what was the most intense and dramatic yet exhilarating end to what was easily the best ever season of European Championship EMX250 racing. With the championship being more or less narrowed down to two riders heading into the final race of the championship, the red plate holder CNC Doors KTM’s Steven Clarke and HSF Logistics Motorsport Team’s Brian Bogers carried the weight of the world on their shoulders. When the gate fell for the last time this season, the guy trailing the championship leader Clarke by eleven points coming in, Brian Bogers, stole the holeshot immediately sending both the crowd and pit-lane into turmoil. While most eyes were on the positions of Bogers and Clarke, it was Kemea Yamaha Racing’s Nick Kouwenberg actually stole the

Who knew Swede’s were so fast in the sand? As of now, everyone knows after the dominating performance of Mafi Yamaha MX Team’s Alvin Östlund who rode impressively in the sandy chop of Lommel this weekend to go 1-1 for his first two moto victories of the year as well as his first ever EMX125 round victory. Although it was Östlund who took the cake this weekend, you can’t take anything away from the challenge in race two. Diga Racing’s young Latvian star on the rise Tomass Sileika took the holeshot and led the opening laps of the race, while an abundance of riders tailed him. With the entire top eight literally riding wheel to wheel around what is possibly the toughest circuit imaginable for a 125cc bike, the sand masters eventually emerged. While early race leader Sileika battled to keep his KTM 125 rubber side down, Dutchman Bas Vaessen

EMXpressconf_MXGP_15_B_2014
Earlier this morning at MXGP of Belgium, round fifteen of the FIM Motocross World Championship in Lommel, Youthstream President Mr. Giuseppe Luongo joined FIM Europe President Dr. Wolfgang Srb, FIM Secretary General Alessandro Sambuco and MXGP Academy trainer and two-time FIM Motocross World Champion John Van Den Berk in a press conference to announce that as of 2015 Youthstream’s latest project the ‘MXGP Academy’ will be officially managed by FIM Europe but will still receive on-going support from Youthstream. The MXGP Academy trains, develops and guides young riders to achieve everything they can within the sport of motocross. Because the project targets our youth, with the youth being linked heavily to their national motorcycling federations, the next logical step in the evolution of the MXGP Academy project was to place it under the management of FIM Europe.  In addition to riders’ training, MXGP Academy will also train trainers so that
