EMX 125 and EMX 2T European Championship: Bonacorsi and Anderson make it three on the bounce in Faenza The round of Emilia Romagna concluded stages three and four of the EMX2t Presented by FMF Racing and EMX125 Presented by FMF Racing series. Once again Verde Substance KTM’s Brad Anderson and Andrea Bonacorsi of Fantic Racing repeated their success from the previous rounds, to both take their third consecutive overall victories.   The first race of the EMX125 Presented by FMF Racing saw Valerio Lata, the rider of Marchetti Racing Team KTM grab the holeshot. He was closely followed by Pietro Razzini and Constantin Piller from KTM Kosak Racing. EMX 125 and EMX 2T European Championship: Bonacorsi and Anderson take back-to-back wins for the round of Città di Faenza The second affair of three scheduled at the Monte Coralli circuit, Faenza, saw Fantic Racing's Andrea Bonacorsi and Brad Anderson of Verde Substance KTM once again rise to the occasion and take back-to-back victories in the EMX125 and EMX2t classes. In the opening EMX125 Presented by FMF Racing heat it was Scott Smulders of the No Fear Jumbo BT Racing Team who got a flying start though he didn’t hold on to the lead for long as Gerard Congost from the RFME GasGas MX Junior Team moved into first place. He was followed by Pietro Razzini and Andrea Rossi. EMX 125 and EMX 2T European Championship: Bonacorsi and Anderson win in Faenza The dust has settled on at the Monte Coralli circuit in Faenza following some intense races in the EMX125 Presented by FMF Racing and EMX2T Presented by FMF Racing Championships. Fantic Racing’s Andrea Bonacorsi had a perfect day going 1-1 in the EMX125 class, meanwhile Brad Anderson of Verde Substance KTM has grabbed an early lead in the EMX2T championship following a 2-1 result. In race one of the EMX125 Presented by FMF Racing class, it was the KTM Kosak Racing rider Constantin Piller who grabbed the early lead in the race, followed by Guillem Farres and Gerard Congost of the RFME GasGas MX Junior Team, as well as Bonacorsi. 2020 EMX Championships Update Following the big success of the Latvian stops of EMX and the support received, EMX continues to look forward to more epic races this season and therefore FIM Europe and Infront Moto Racing would like to reveal the most recent updates to the 2020 EMX Championships racing calendar. Following the evolution of COVID-19 restrictions and the difficulty of travel, the decision has been made to postpone to 2021 the GP of Turkey in Afyonkarahisar, originally scheduled on the 5-6th of September. Instead, following the success of the Latvian triple-header, the European Championships will anticipate the event in Faenza, Italy, for three epic Grand Prix races with the MXGP of Italy on the 5-6th of September, the MXGP of Città di Faenza on the 8-9th September and the MXGP of Emilia Romagna on 12-13th September. EMX 250 and EMX Open European Championship: Benistant and Savaste win the third round in Kegums The EM250 and EMX Open races have concluded rounds four and three of the European Championships here in Kegums, Latvia, that saw Thibault Benistant of Hutten Mataal Yamaha Racing take his third consecutive overall victory in the EMX250 class, meanwhile in EMX Open it was Kim Savaste of 137 Motorsport who stood on the top step of the podium. In the opening EMX250 race it was Meico Vettik who was flying out of the gate become the early race leader. EMX 250 and EMX Open European Championship: Benistant and Kutsar victorious in Riga Rounds three and two of the EMX250 and the EMX Open Championships have concluded yesterday at the round of Riga, as Thibault Benistant of Hutten Metaal Yamaha Racing claimed his second round victory in the 250 class and Karel Kutsar clinched the overall in the EMX Open and became the new championship leader. It was a perfect day for Thibault Benistant who once again put his Hutten Metaal Yamaha machine at the front of the field going on to claim both race victories, the overall and extend his championship lead to 24 points. The opening EMX250 race started with drama on the first turn, which saw Jorgen-Matthias Talviku of ASA United Husqvarna getting caught up in that as well. Though at the front of the field it was Tom Guyon who was fastest out of the gate, closely followed by Benistant, Meico Vettik and the second Hutten Metaal Yamaha Racing rider Gianluca Facchetti. EMX 250 and EMX Open European Championship: Benistant and Macuks victorious in Latvia Following a long five-month break, the European Championships made their return with the EMX250 and EMX Open races on Saturday 08th August in Kegums, Latvia. The intense sun made for hot and tricky conditions that tested even the best riders, though what made it better was the presence of fans that were keen on cheering on their favourite riders from the public area. In the opening EMX250 race it was Tom Guyon who got a flying jump of out the gate and reached the first corner in pole position. He then led the rest of the European 250 riders until lap five when Koen Gouwenberg briefly moved into first place for one lap. Motocross of European Nations postponed to 2021 FIM Europe and Infront Moto Racing regrets to inform that the 2020 FIM Europe’s Motocross of European Nations and Women’s Motocross of European Nations has been postponed to 2021. Originally scheduled to take place in Riola Sardo, Sardinia this fall 2020, the new change comes in order to accommodate the recent modifications to the FIM Motocross World Championship calendar and to comply with the COVID-19 pandemic restrictions. The unique event welcomes some of the best talents from all over Europe, as riders from each country battle for pride and glory for their nation. Last year’s event saw Team Italy defend their 2018 title as they became champions once again, meanwhile in the WMX division it was Team Holland who went on to take their first WMXoEN victory in Gdansk, Poland! EMX 125, EMX 250, EMX Open, EMX 2T Updated Calendars It is with great pleasure that the FIM Europe and Infront Moto Racing can finally reveal the updated 2020 calendars, as the series will make its much-anticipated return following a four month break due to the COVID-19 outbreak. During the last four months, the FIM Europe, Infront Moto Racing alongside the FIM, National Federations and Organisers have been continuously in contact and weekly discussions with local governments have taken place, in order to determine the best way to re-start the FIM Motocross World Championships and the Motocross European Championships. The common goal has remained to preserve the maximum number of events in order to make a credible Championship, supporting all the stakeholders with the aim of saving the jobs of everyone in our sport. EMX65, EMX85 and Women’s Championships’ cancelled for 2020 FIM Europe regrets to announce that due to the global COVID-19 pandemic the 2020 European Championships EMX65, EMX85 and Women’s are cancelled. The EMX65 andEMX85 championships should have taken place in four zone: South East, South West, North East, North West and the finals were set to take place at the popular Loket circuit in Czech Republic, with the EMXGP and many of the European youngest talents due to gather for another fantastic weekend of racing. Unfortunately, due to the current global situation, this will not be possible in 2020 as most of the EMX65 and EMX85 events were supposed to run in spring/summer and can not be re-scheduled in autumn due to the school calendar.
