Motocross of European Nations at Gdansk, in Poland

The 2017 Motocross of European Nations saw 17 teams from 16 different countries come together to race in Gdansk, Poland this weekend. Today marked the second of the 2 day event. An Opening Ceremony started the morning with FIM Europe President Dr. Wolfgang Srb, Major of Gdansk Mr. Pawel Adamowicz and Mr. Michal Sikora, Vice President of the Polish Automobile and Motorcycling Federation PZM, all welcoming the participants. After a wet Saturday the weather made a change for the better Sunday to provide great racing and at the conclusion of which it was the French Federation celebrating as their team took the MXoEN winner’s trophy while the Women of the Netherlands celebrated their Women’s Motocross of European Nations victory. Motocross of European Nations 125cc/250cc In the first race of 125cc and 250cc Ukraine’s Volodymyr Tarasov led the first 2 laps but had France’s Mathys Boisrame and Germany’s Tom Koch behind him.

EMX of European Nations at Gdansk – The provisional entry lists

The yearly event of Motocross of the European Nations wil be held at Gdansk, in Poland, in the weekend of 2-3 September. Also the Women Motocross of European Nations will be held in the same weekend and in the entry lists there is also the name of the four-times world champion Kiara Fontanesi (in the photo). The first race in EMX 65 class was lead by Italians Ferruccio Zanchi and Alessandro Gaspari. Third place went to French rider Mathis Valin. The second holeshot went to Italian Alessandro Gaspari but Ferruccio Zanchi lead again 7,37 sec ahead of Alessandro Gaspari and 9.09 sec of Slovenian Jaka Peklaj. The overall winner of the event was Italian Ferruccio Zanchi in front of Alessandro Gaspari and of French Mathis Valin. Race1 in EMX 85 was lead by Spanish David Braceras. Yesterday’s  qualification winner  Eddie Jay Wade from Spain was out due the technical problems. Second and third place to Italian riders Andrea Rossi and Pietro Razzini. The second holeshot went to Spanish Raul Sanchez, who won the 2nd race as well. in front of his compatriot David Braceras. Third position for Italian Matteo Luigi Russi. European Motocross Championships: the 2017 rules are on FIM Europe website

The EMX250 championship is open to motorcycles between 175cc and 250cc for both 4 stroke and 2 stroke powered engines. This will make the European motocross most important championship extremely interesting with the introduction of equal capacities for the 2 strokes and 4 strokes. 2. The 2016 Women's Cup is now upgraded to an official European championship for 2017 consisting of 4 rounds in Denmark, Poland, Germany and Latvia. 3. European Motocross 65-85 cc South East Championship – First round in Giannitsa

Julian Georgiev, winner of the first heat in the 85 cc In the weekend of 4-5 April the South East European Motocross 65 and 85 cc Championship event was held in Giannitsa (Greece). The event showed a very good cooperation among all the parties involved: FIM Europe, Bulgarian Motorcycling Federation and organizers, Greek Motocross Club OFMG, who carried out all their work in perfect conditions.     Three thousand people gathered in Giannitsa MX Park to enjoy the thrilling races the MX kid riders in EMX65 and EMX85 were about to perform. European Motocross 65-85 cc North West Championship First round in Emmen

The start of the EMX 65 In the weekend of 4-5 April the North West European Motocross 65 and 85 cc Championship event was held in Emmen and for the first time it was organised by the MSV Motodrome Emmen. During the week before the event the weather had been very rainy and the club made an excellent job preparing the circuit. At the start of the event, all conditions were perfect for good racing. Both racing days benefitted from sunny weather, which allowed around 1.000 spectators to watch the event live in the track.After the technical control there were 28 riders in the EMX65 class and 66 riders in the EMX85 class.    EMX65        The first heat of the EMX65 class was dominated by Dutch rider Kay Karssemakers.
