European Races of the weekend 30-31/03/2019 1. EMX 125 2T European Championship, 30th-31st March, Valkenswaard - Netherlands 2. Vintage Enduro European Championship, 30th-31st March, Piacenza - Italy  

The UK round of the FIM Europe Vintage Road Race Championship was organised by the Classic Racing Motorcycle Club and held under sunny skies at the Donington Park Classic Motorcycle Festival. The former Moto GP circuit served up some brilliant racing over three days, thrilling a big crowd of spectators. The first set of races saw class wins for: Class 2 Stuart McDonald (Bultaco), Class 3 Charles Murdoch (Honda), Class 4 Tomas Karlsson (Yamaha) Class 5 Roel Pasop (Triumph), Class 6 Alan Major (Triumph), Class 7a Mike Smith (Triumph ) Class 7b Mike Smith (Yamaha). Conditions for racing remained ideal for the second set of races and the results were similar to the first set of races except that Bernd Pollman took the Class 4 win on his immaculate Aermacchi after race 1 winner Tomas Karlsson retired his 350cc Yamaha. The Championship moves to the former Grand Prix Rijeka circuit

FIM Europe has decided to launch a tender to find a Promoter for the 2019-2021 Vintage Endurance Cup events. This “Call for Expression of Interest” is no more than an invitation to tender and does not constitute either a contract or an offer. Those who are interested should contact the General Secretariat writing to office@fim-europe.com within September 10th 2018.

The riders of the FIM Europe Vintage Road Race Championship gathered at the Sachsenring circuit, which in just three weeks’ time will host the German round of the 2018 Moto GP. In a wet qualifying session 2016 Champion Peter Howarth was the fastest and took the pole position on his TZ350 Yamaha, closely followed by 2017 Champion Richard Peers Jones also on Yamaha. Paul Allender qualified third for a front row of the grid completely British. The conditions were still wet for Race 1 and a close race ensued with Peers-Jones (Class 7b) beating Howarth to the flag for only 0.2 seconds. The fastest lap was set by Howarth on his final lap in his efforts to close the gap from the winner. Swedish Lars Sanberg (Class 5) and his trusty Seeley G50 finished third to complete the podium. The last 4h race of the 2017 ECS started at the Motorland Aragon racetrack. Racing conditions were very good, with a temperature in the mid 20º and a beautiful Spanish sunshine. Twentysix teams made the trip to Alcañiz and were present in the morning at the start of the practice sessions. Six qualifying and one night practice followed without any problems on the track. Although some teams had a lot of work to solve mechanical problems, all the bikes are ready for the race on Saturday afternoon. Regarding to the standings after the first 3 rounds, there is a fierce competition all over the classes. On Maxi Classic there are 3 teams, Team Taurus, Neate Racing and Sweatshop Phase One #4, that can win the class. On Classic 1000 the classification is even tighter with 8 teams capable of winning a place on the final podium. On the 750TT class,

The FIM Europe Vintage Commission has organized a Prize Giving Ceremony for the winners of the 2016 Classic Road Racing Championship. The event took place in Zagreb at the Esplanade Hotel. It was organized by the Vintage Commission member from Croatia, Igor Boskovic, with the support of the Road Racing responsible John Davidson. As a special guest to help present the trophies,  the Vintage Commission invited Igor Eskinja, a good friend from the vintage activities and well known FIM member. After the prize giving and speeches from Igor Boskovic, John Davidson and José Campos Costa, a dinner was served to all the riders, spouses and friends present. The European Classic Endurance Cup ended with great success yesterday at Motorland Aragon in Spain. Good weather, a fabulous track, perfect organization and an exciting race, were the ingredients that made this event a perfect finish for the DG Sports promoted cup. After 4 hours of racing, with only one minor accident without any problem for rider and bike, the winners were Mertens and Simpson from the Sweatshop Phase One I team for the Maxi Classic class, Boos, Nerge and Pfautsch from the German Guzzi Classic Team in the Classic 1000 class and Struck, Sieg and Bohmhauer from the Capelli Belli team in the 750TT class. The last race of 2015 for the European Classic Series started on Friday October 30th with the 4  hours of Aragon at the Motorland Aragon circuit. With perfect weather and a very good organization, the riders had 3 sessions of free practices followed by 3 sessions of qualifying plus a one hour night practice.From the 28 teams that started the day, 27 qualified for the race which will start today, Saturday, at 16.35.    The best lap times were made by bike number 4 from the Sweatshop Phase One team with Stéphane Mertens and Ian Simpson in the Maxi Classic class; bike number 333 from the Scuderia Officine Toscane with Emiliano Bellucci and Oreste Zaccarelli  in the Classic 1000 class; bike number 112 from the Capelli Belli team with Eckhard Struck, Manfred Sieg and Robert Bohmhauer in the 750TT class.We expect an exiting race as the final win in class

The circuit of Slovakia hosted the European Vintage Regularity Cup, which saw 74 riders in five different classes. The day started with a temperature of 4 degrees above zero for the practice, but in the afternoon the races were held with an Autumn sun that allowed the execution without any problems. The participants praised the excellent work of Peter Balaz, who once again created an event able to catch the interest of riders coming from Slovakia, Czech Republic, Austria, Germany and Hungary. The 2015 FIM Europe Vintage Road Racing Championship started this weekend at the Automotodrom Grobnik in Croatia. With perfect weather conditions and in the beautiful countryside of Rijeka, 27 riders from 7 Countries took the start in 7 different classes. The qualifying practice took place on Saturday, with race director Robert Žiković, starting the first round in the afternoon of the same day.  With very interesting disputes on the track, the wins went to Veravainen Jussi in Class 2, Roberto Maria Coda in Class 3, Bernd Pollmann in Class 4, Jure Lampe in Class 5, Arrigo Vinsani in Class 6, Jussi Luoma in Class 7a and Gunnar Jansson on Class 7b.
