Dryml the new Individual Speeday European Champion

The fourth and last final of the Individual Speedway European Championship was held today on the Austrian track of Mureck. For the first time, the title of an European Speedway Champion was given after a set of 4 final races. The new champion is Ales Dryml, Czech Republic, who could defend his leading position without too much efforts. 2nd finished Robert Miskowiak (Poland), the 3rd place was kept by Andriy Karpov (Ukraine). Winner of the last race was Kenni Larsen, Denmark, who defeated Robert Miskowiak only by run off. A crowd of nearly 2000 spectators saw a well organised event with excellent races. Superstock 600 EC and Moriwaki Cup in Portimao

The fore last round of this season for the EC Superstock 600 Road Race was run today at the fantastic nice Autodromo Algarve circuit in Portimao (Portugal). With a points difference of 2, the 1st and 2nd placed riders respectively Dutch Michael van der Mark (Honda) and Italian Riccardo Russo (Yamaha) had a prestigious race to go. Michael had pole position and Ricardo second after he had technical problems in the 2nd qualifying practice. After a brilliant start of Russo with Van der Mark on the fourth place the battle starts after the fourth lap when Van der Mark catches Russo. For a couple of laps they came side by side over the finish. But in the sixth lap Russo made a little mistake in the difficult hairpin. Third final of the Individual Speedway EC in Krsko

The third final of the Individual Speedway European Championship was held yesterday on the Slovenian track of Krsko. Winner of the round was Ukrainian Andriy Karpov followed by Latvian Andzejs Lebedevs. The leader of provisional rankings is Czech Ales Dryml with 40 points, in front of Karpov and Lebedevs both with 34 points. Superstock 600 EC and KTM Junior Cup in Nürburgring

The 8th round of the Superstock 600 European Championship series and the 9th round of the KTM European Junior Cup were held this weekend in Nuerburgring (Germany). In the Superstock 600 cc the Qualifying practice on Friday and Saturday was running under very good weather condition, sunny and not so hot. Fastest was the Dutch rider Michael Van der Mark with new track-record 2:02.677. The Belgian Rider G. Duwelz crashed in the sighing lap so the 3th place on the grid was free. The race saw the victory of Dutch rider Michael Van der Mark (Honda), followed by Italian Riccardo Russo (Yamaha) and Italian Franco Morbidelli (Yamaha). Thanks to this victory Van der Mark managed to overtake Russo and is now leading the provisional rankings with 169 points. Next round is scheduled on the 23rd of September in Portimao (Portugal). Second round of Honda NSF100 Cup in Cheb

After the first round held in Zuera (Spain) in July, the second round was held in the tight technical Kartarena circuit just outside Cheb in the Czech Republic. By the end of the two sessions local Czech riders Martin Gbelec and Filip Salac were at the top of the qualifiers, almost a second in front of German Philip Freitag who headed the rest of the pack. The hot weather and the grippy surface were once again causing heavy tyre wear for the harder riders like Patrik Pulkinen from Finland and fresh tyres were the order of the day for the races. When the first race started all eyes were on a very relaxed Gbelec, comfortably leading the series. Final of the Team Speedway EC in Landshut

The final of the UEM Under 21 Team Speedway Junior European Championship was held yesterday the 8th of September 2012 in the wonderful setting of Landshut in Bavaria (Germany) on a warm sunny evening. The race meeting which consisted of four teams from Germany, Poland, Ukraine and Denmark was very competitive and the young riders put up a great show of strength throughout the event. The 2500 spectators witnessed some very exciting racing with some of the heats being too close to call, with riders overtaking and re overtaking before the reaching the final flag. Once the scores were finalised and agreed, the new 2012 European Under 21 Team Speedway Champions were Poland, with 48 points, 2nd was Denmark with 41 points and Ukraine in third place. The second semi-final of the Pairs Speedway European Championship was held yesterday the 8th of September 2012 on the Hungarian track of Miskolc. Second round of Hill Climb Road Racing in Gorno-Oneta

The 2nd round of the new competition in the UEM, called the “Hill Climb Road Racing”, was held on the beautiful Passo Zambla in the area of Gorno near Bergamo in Italy. In total 97 riders were present to race “up to the hill” for over 2290 meters of racing track and making an altitude of 181 meter. The track has 7 square corners to the right and 8 to the left. Also 3 over 180 degrees hairpins. The average speed is not over 80 km/h. The weather conditions were perfect so high in the mountains. All was very well organised run without any problems. The second final of the Individual Speedway European Championship was held yesterday the first of September 2012 on the Latvian track of Dougavpils. The victory went to the Russian rider Grigory Laguta in front of Czech rider Ales Dryml and Latvian Andrejs Lebedevs. In the provisional rankings is leading the Czech rider Ales Dryml with 28 points. Next final round is scheduled on the 15th of September in Krsko (Slovenia) and the last one on the 30th of September in Mureck (Austria). (UEM Press Release 132/2012)
