The second half of the Superstock 600cc European Championship season began today at the Brno Circuit (Czech Republic). Also this year the track, celebrating its 25th birthday, offered perfect racing conditions. On Saturday, already in the first lap it was Dutchman Michael van der Mark who conquered the first position of the Superstock 600cc EC. But pole setter Riccardo Russo (Italy) and Gauthier Duwelz (Belgium) followed him closely. They were joined by Danish Alex Schacht on fourth position. The thrilling last two laps showed a couple of overtaking manoeuvres and finally Honda rider Michael van der Mark crossed the finish line at first. This season’s Honda NSF100 Cup will be held over two race weekend’s with the first taking place at Zuera in Spain next weekend on 28-29 July. The young riders taking part in this year’s double-header Honda NSF100 Cup are aged between 10 and 13 and come from all over Europe, with one coming from Argentina, to compete at the Spanish circuit, which is located just 30km north of Zaragoza. The series is named after the Honda NSF100, a small four-stroke racing machine manufactured by HRC (Honda Racing Corporation), which has been designed as the perfect tool to introduce younger riders to road racing. Each competing rider in the 2012 Honda NSF100 Cup will receive a special ‘surprise’ commemorative gift package from HRC in Japan. The Semi-Final of the Sidecar Grass Track European Championship was held yesterday in Loppersum (The Netherlands). Victory went to the German couple of Tommy Kunert (rider) and Markus Eibl (passenger). Second position went also to a German duo Markus Brandhofer (rider) and Corine Gunthor (passenger). The third Semi-Final of the Individual Speedway Junior European Championship was held on Saturday the 7th of July in the Danish track of Holsted. The winner was Polish Zmarzlik Bartosz, in second position Polish Sowka Lukasz and third position Danish Porsing Nicklas. The Final of the Individual Speedway Junior European Championship will be held on the 25th of August in Opole (Poland). (UEM Press Release 86/2012)

The fifth round of the UEM 600 Superstock European Championship was held on the 30th of June 2012 at the Motorland Aragon track in Spain. It was very well organized event held together with the World Superbike Championship. The race was stopped during fifth lap due to crash of the rider No. 88 M. Marchal. The race restarted with 6 laps and victory went to Championship leader Italian Riccardo Russo (Yamaha), second Dutch Michael Van der Mark (Honda) and third Belgian Gauthier Duwelz (Yamaha). Today was held also the fourth round of the KTM European Junior CUP. The race was won by Spanish Javier Orellana, overtaking the second Austrian Lukas Wimmer just before the finish line, and at the third place was Spanish Christian Vidal. The provisional rankings see the leadership of Russo in the Superstock 600 with 106 points and of Orellana in the KTM Junior with 46 points.

The Italian track of Misano Adriatico hosted this weekend the Superstock 600 cc. European Championship, held yesterday, and the KTM Junior Cup and the Two Countries Cup, held today The 4th round of the Superstock 600 cc Road Racing European Championship was held yesterday at Misano World Circuit (Italy). The race was won by the Dutch Michael Van der Mark (Honda) in front of the Italian Riccardo Russo (Yamaha). The leader of the Championship Russo tried to obtain a considerable gap during the early laps, but Van der Mark who is in the second place in the general rankings was able to keep up with him and overtake him at previous lap to the last. The Chernovograd (Ucraine) track hosed yesterday the 1st of June the Semi-Final 2 of the Individual Speedway Junior European Championship. The victory went to the Polish rider Kacper Gomolski, who imposed himself on the Ukrainian Kiril Tcukanov and Lativan Andrejs Lebedevs. The Semi-Final 3 is scheduled on the 7th of July in Holsted (Denmark). The Semi Final 2 of the Team Speedway Junior European Championship was held at Opole on 7th June 2012. The winner was the Danish team, and together with the Polish team second classified will participate to the Final scheduled the 8th September 2012 in Landshut (Germany). The meeting was very well organised by the KZ Kolejarz Opole and there were some very exciting heats with fair fights of junior riders. (UEM Press Release 61/2012)

For the fifth consecutive year, the Circuit of Albacete will set the stage for the UEM European Championships to be held on the 6th and 7th of October 2012. The contest, organized by the UEM and RFME, will give an opportunity to win European titles in the Moto3TM/125GP, 600 Supersport and Superstock 1000 categories. In addition that weekend there will be junior titles awarded in the first two categories for entrants aged 20 years and under. As in previous years, the top five national champions of Spain, France, Germany, Italy and Netherlands are entitled to participate. Also permitted will be the top four Champions of Nordic, Eastern Europe and the Alpe-Adria region.
