The second half of the Superstock 600cc European Championship season began today at the Brno Circuit (Czech Republic). Also this year the track, celebrating its 25th birthday, offered perfect racing conditions. On Saturday, already in the first lap it was Dutchman Michael van der Mark who conquered the first position of the Superstock 600cc EC. But pole setter Riccardo Russo (Italy) and Gauthier Duwelz (Belgium) followed him closely. They were joined by Danish Alex Schacht on fourth position. The thrilling last two laps showed a couple of overtaking manoeuvres and finally Honda rider Michael van der Mark crossed the finish line at first. Duwelz had a gap of only one tenth and the former championship leader Russo finished on third position (both Yamaha).
