Tragic mourning for the Polish Motocross Polish champion Łukasz Lonka, 29 years-old, passed away yesterday following to the serious head and spine injury after a crash in the regional championship held last Sunday. Łukasz was an icon of the Polish motocross: multiple Polish champion, twice third in the European Championship (2008 - EMX Junior; 2010 - EMX Open), four times part of the Polish National Team at the Motocross of Nations (Teutschenthal, Kegums, Ernee, Maggiora). Last season he raced in the World Championship (MX3), in the European Championship (EMX250) and in many others championship such as MACEC, ADAC, Dutch Masters, ONK, MMCR and others international competitions. The FIM Europe takes part in the loss and the full sympathy goes out to his family.

2020 FIM Motocross European Championship Provisional Calendar UPDATE The provisional calendar also includes the rounds scheduled for MXGP, MX2 and Women’s Motocross World Championship FIM Europe announces a slight update to the just released 2020 European provisional calendar. The round in Teutschenthal, Germany, is set to take place on 31st May 2020. The provisional calendar remains otherwise unchanged and can be downloaded here below.

2020 FIM Motocross European Championship Provisional Calendar Now that the 2019 MXGP Season is running into the second half, FIM Europe and Youthstream are proud to release the 2020 FIM Motocross European Championships Provisional Calendar for classes EMX125, EMX250, EMX2T and EMX Open. From 2020 the EMX Open Championship will be combined with MXGP/MX2 events within Europe. There will be 6 events counting towards the championship standings in the EMX Open Championship, all at MXGP/MX2 events similar to and in the same format as the EMX125, EMX250 and EMX2T championships. EMX 65 / EMX 85 European Championship North East zone: last round in Estonia This weekend the last round of EMX65/85 NE Zone was held on legendary Jaanikese track in Estonia and the 10 of each group, who got to the EC finals, were cleared. In EMX85 class there was Latvian Karlis Alberts Reišulis (KTM) who was too tough for others to beat and the young Latvian won cleary qualification race and the both finals. In the first race Russian Zakhar Osmolovskii (Husqvarna) and Estonian Mikk Martin Lõhmus (KTM) batteled for second and this time Russian was a bit quicker and took second place ahead of Lõhmus. In the second race Lõhmus didn't let anybody threaten his position and took second place, third Aleh Makhnou (KTM) from Belarussia, who finished sixth in the first heat. EMX 65 / EMX 85 European Championship South West zone and EMX Open European Championship: last round in Slovenia The beautiful area around Sentvid Pri Sticni hosted on 29th-30th June the last round of the season. Under a clear blue sky and over 30° temperature this final round has been very interesting as the top ten riders of the classification will take part to the final in Loket at the last weekend of July. EMX 65 class Sunday’s race 1 was ruled from start to finish by the French Basile Pigois. Zone leader Joel Canadas started at 6th place: he moved up to second but a few mistakes in last lap led the Italian Filippo Mantonvani to pass. EMX 250 European Championship and EMX 125 European Championship: Rubini and Guyon take top step in EMX The circuit of Teutschenthal hosted the round of EMX Championships EMX250 and EMX125 Presented by FMF Racing. Through the 2 days of racing where the Summer heat ups the Talkessel circuit it was Honda Redmoto Assomotor’s Stephen Rubini and Team VRT’s Tom Guyon who proved to be the most prepared to challenge the technical German track. F&H Racing Kawasaki’s Roan Van De Moosdijk came out of the first lap with the lead in the EMX250 opening race and held that position for 12 laps before second placed Honda Redmoto Assomotor’s Stephen Rubini closed up and passed the Dutchman on lap 13 and took the win. Van De Moosdijk finished second while Team Maddii Racing Husqvarna’s Alberto Forato finished third. EMX 65 / EMX 85 European Championship South East zone and EMX Open European Championship: the race in Serbia dav The fourth round of the EMX 65/EMX 85 SE zone and the fifth of the EMX Open was race this weekend in Globare, Serbia. EMX 85 Qualifying practice Croatian rider Luka Kunic was fastest in qualifying practice in EMX 85 class. Second best was Hristian Giorghiev from Bulgaria and Hungarian Zoltan Ordog was third fastest. EMX 250 European Championship and EMX 2T European Championship: Van de Moosdijk and Bengtson win EMX rounds in Latvia The Latvian round for European Championship classes of EMX250 and EMX2T presented by FMF Racing proved exciting atmosphere with two dominant winners. In the EMX250 class it was Roan Van De Moosdijk from F&H Kawasaki team who scored the win with 1-1 results, and in the EMX2T Presented by FMF Racing Swedish rider Ken Bengtson also went 1-1 for his first ever win in the class. F&H Kawasaki team’sRoan Van De Moosdijk proved to be very strong in the sand of Kegums and also closed up on new series leader Team Maddii Racing Husqvarna’s Alberto Forato, who finished second overall with 3-4 results. EMX 65 / EMX 85 European Championship South East zone and EMX Open European Championship: the round in Croatia dav EMX 85 In race 1 Laszlo Tecsi and Luka Kunic presented the same scenario as in qualifying. Tecsi wins a hole shot and soon he made a safe gap to second Kunic. Third position for Dino Loncar. Race 2 was like the first one. Tecsi took the lead getting a clear win in front of Kunic and Loncar. Overall winner was Tecsi. EMX 65 In race 1 great start for Ferenc Orlov and Adam Horvat, who took the lead. Bad start for Casey Tzemach, but soon he got close to the leader winning the round in front of Horvat and Orlov. In race 2 Horvat was again leader at the start followed by Orlov, Tzankov and Tzemach. But once more is Tzemach to win in front of Horvath and Orlov.

EMX 65 / EMX 85 European Championship North West zone and EMX Women's European Championship: Steffi Laier got the title in the Netherlands Multiple Women’s Motocross World Champion Steffi Laier conquerd the European Motocross title at Arnhem, in the Netherlands. Under perfect sunny skies, the German rider did enough with one third and one second place, getting the title. Hard-fought the 85cc class. Lucas Bruhn from Denmark took the overall with 3-1 scores, and Andrea Krogh Jensen finished second with a pair of runner up spots. Third overall was Nikolai Skovbjerg with a race win and a fourth place. Bruhn also topped the regional qualifying standings, while Sacha Coenen from Belgium looked set for the top spot in the qualifier series, but a broken chain in the second heat put paid to his chances.
