Enduro European Championship at Bacau (Romania) - Day1

In the first day of the second round of the European Enduro Championship in Bacau, Romania, the French rider Hugo Blanjoue won on his KTM: being 23 years old, he races in the Junior class where he leads the standings. Second place in the overall for Erik Appelqvist from Sweden (photo2) ahead of Czech Krystof Kouble: they all from the Junior class of the E2/E3. After his overall victory at the first round in his home country, Italian Alessandro Battig decided to compete in the other rounds of the European Championship too. Battig won his class, but in the overall classification the Kawasaki rider snatched the sixth place, which however consents him to maintain his lead in the championship. European Cross Country Cup at Lathi (Finland)

The European Cross Country Cup was held at Lathi (Finland) in front of around 1000 spectators in nice, sunny weather. The track was around 15 kms long and very well prepared, no big holes, stones and other difficult, dangerous zones. After 9 laps and 3 hours of hard race there were no dramatic situations or accidents (7 laps for Women’s class). Created with Nokia Smart Cam The winners were Joakim Ljunggren from Sweden in the Senior Class, Antti Ahtila from Finland in the Junior Class, Marko Leponiemi from Finland in the Veteran Class and Marita Nyqvist from Finland in the Women’s Class. European Enduro Championship at Fabriano (Italy)

The new season of the European Enduro Championship started this weekend at Fabriano (Italy), around 200 kms North-East of Rome. Day1 - The first winner in this competition was Italian Alessandro Battig (photo2). The European champion Matteo Pavoni was fighting against his countrymen Maurizio Micheluz and Alessandro Battig. Not so strong at the beginning, Pavoni increased in the last five special tests, but Micheluz and Battig were already too far ahead. This year Battig is riding a 450cc Kawasaki instead of the smaller 250cc as in the last seasons, which helped him to win the overall. European Superenduro Cup at Lidköping (Sweden)

The final round of Superenduro Cup was held in Lidköping in Sweden, where the German rider Tim Apolle arrived as the leader of the general standings with 15 points of advantage on the other riders. All photos ©Robert Pairan Already in the qualifying Apolle was nearly 4 seconds faster than his rival Andris Grinfelds from Latvia, who followed him in the series. In the first heat the German rider gained the leadership at the start and already after one lap he had to fight with the first slow riders. But Apolle kept cool and safe and won the race. His advantage grew to 18 points – not enough for the title, but a comfortable gap, while Grinfelds was fighting from ninth position to second place. In the second heat, with reversed start, there was the inevitable traffic jam at the first obstacle.

GIANT Snowmobile Enduro European Cup at Kemijärvi (Finland)

The first round of GIANT Snowmobile Enduro FIM European Cup was held at Kemijärvi, in Finland, with 29 participants, in front of around 200 spectators in the first day and 500 in the second day. The weather was cloudy, with temperatures from -3 to -8 C° degrees and about 1 meter of snow. Day 1 - Nice and long special tests were challeanging for the riders. Three special tests were more than 50 km long and one was shorter for spectators near the city. In the Veteran class among the participants there were Tapio Nevala President of Finnish Motorcycle Federation (photo1) and Kurt Ljungqvist General Secretary (photo2). The winners in day one were Tuula Havumäki in Women, Saku Niskanen in the Junior, Teppo Käkelä in the Senior, Jukka Nyberg in the Veteran. European Superenduro Cup at Bilbao (Spain)

The atmosphere in the Biskaia Arena was electric for the 2nd round of the European Superenduro Cup. A little over 6000 fans came to the Bilbao Exhibition Center to cheer on the best international riders – the event hosted, in fact, also the 4th round of the Maxxis FIM Superenduro Maxxis FIM Superenduro World Championship. The show, which was full-on, complete with enthusiastic cheerleaders and shockingly unpredictable races. Great challenge between French Jacon Adrien and German Tim Apolle, winner of the first round in Poland, who raced with a KTM 300 that he will also use in the German Enduro Championship. The new season of SuperEnduro started in style - it was an overwhelming reception in the Tauron Arena for the opening round of the 2018 season of the Maxxis FIM SuperEnduro World Championship, and in this context the first round of the FIM Europe SuperEnduro Cup started, too, in front of 12,000 Polish spectators who were thrilled by the exploits of the 75 riders entered from 22 nations. The third and last day of the final round of the Enduro European Championship took place in Gelnica, Slovakia and in the overall rating three Italians were on the podium: the new European champion is the Junior Matteo Pavoni (photo2), who is also champion in the junior class E1 on the 250th four-stroke KTM. His 34 year-old countryman Maurizio Micheluz snatched the second place ahead of Oscar Balletti, both on a 300cc Husqvarna-2-stroke. In this last day of the season, in the final motocross test, the favourite was the Czech Jaromir Romancik, who crashed but in the end he managed to win both in his E2 class, and also in the overall. European Enduro at Gelnica (Slovakia) - Day2

The second day of the final round of the Enduro European Championship took place at Gelnica, in Slovakia today. In four classes the European Champions have already been crowned. The first new European champion was Joakim Grelsson in the U20 class for 125cc riders. In the morning the Swede was just nine points ahead, but his countryman and challenger Calle Johansson had technical problems and went out prematurely. So the KTM rider won this title as well as the working-pavilion, which the promoter Wolfgang Butzner had donated as support for the youngest riders.
