Enduro European Championship at Bacau (Romania) - Day1

In the first day of the second round of the European Enduro Championship in Bacau, Romania, the French rider Hugo Blanjoue won on his KTM: being 23 years old, he races in the Junior class where he leads the standings.
Second place in the overall for Erik Appelqvist from Sweden (photo2) ahead of Czech Krystof Kouble: they all from the Junior class of the E2/E3.
After his overall victory at the first round in his home country, Italian Alessandro Battig decided to compete in the other rounds of the European Championship too. Battig won his class, but in the overall classification the Kawasaki rider snatched the sixth place, which however consents him to maintain his lead in the championship.
Two more class victories went to his Italian compatriots: in the two-stroke class up to 250 cc the winner was Maurizio Micheluz on Husqvarna and Tommaso Montanari on KTM was the first in the four-stroke class up to 250 cc.

In the two-stroke class over 250 cc the fastest on the day was Jiri Hadek on KTM from Czech Republic.
In the women’s class, Dutch rider Nina Klink clinched her day’s victory in the first round: she was the only one to climb the difficult uphill in the special stage with almost no problems. Her rivals had to push and fight and lost so much time that the best of them had a quarter of an hour penalty time.

This demanding uphill was a problem for all the riders (photo1), so that the organizers decided to cut this section out for the second day.
The riders were particularly lucky, because as soon as the last rider crossed the finish line, a storm with heavy rainfall started.
