The Semi-Final of the European Pairs Speedway Championship was held yesterday in the Hungarian track of Miskolc. The winners of the Semi-Final were the Polish riders (Puszakowski and Ulamek) in front of riders from Slovenia (Matic, Conda and Pecnik) and Czech Republic (Milik, Franc). The final of the European Pairs Speedway Championship will be held on the 6th of July in Herxheim (Germany). (UEM Press Release 27/2013)      

The first round of the Enduro European Championship was held this weekend in Bussi sul Tirino near Pescara (Italy). The event saw the participation of 185 competitors from 16 countries. Due to the magnificently high number of entries for the 125 2 stroke (69 entries) European Championship and the 250 (94) European Championship for Portugal, Youthstream and FIM Europe are delighted to be able to announce a change in the race format for these Championships permitting every rider to race. The former format would have sent home more than 50% of the riders after the timed practice not allowing them the chance to race, however it is imperative for the young riders to be able to race in order to improve. Youthstream sees the European Championship as the base of our sport's pyramid and it's fantastic to see the number and quality of riders increase with each year. The format will consist of 2 groups for the free practices, 2 groups for the timed practices, 2 semi-final races and a last-chance race on the Saturday, then the final will be

 The France A team won the Motocross of European Nations that was held this year at the beginning of the sporting season in Castelnau de Levis (France). Second position went to Italy and third Sweden. The event had a new formula that see the composition of national teams with 4 young riders of the classes 85cc, 125cc and 250cc. The aim was to show skills to new hopeful riders. The experiment met a positive acceptance by riders and saw a good participation. The Individual Speedway European Championship started this weekend with the first Semi-final held yesterday in Chervonograd (Ukraine). The winner of the Semi-final was Danish rider Leon Madsen in front of Russian Roman Povazhny and Latvian Maxims Bogdanovs. Semi-final 2 of the Individual Speedway European Championship is scheduled on the 1st of May in Debrecen (Hungary). The 2013 Enduro European Championship will start on the 27th and 28th of April in Bussi sul Tirino (Italy). Since today the organisers received registration entries by 182 riders, among whom 10 for the FIM Europe Cup 50 cc., 10 for the Women and, for the first time, 2 Ukrainian riders. The Enduro Commission chairman, Marco Bolzonello, expressed great satisfaction for the high number of registration, in particular among Junior riders. The organisers, thanks to the support of the promoter Wolfgang Butzner and of the Tourism Office of the Pescara province, did their best to guarantee the success of the event, which presents an extremely competitive track that was defined by the former world champion Mario Rinaldi, after a detailed inspection, as worthy for an European level event. As several protagonists of the past season stepped up to Supersport World Championship and numerous young talents from European Junior Cup (including 2012 Champion Lukas Wimmer) and national championships arrived, the European Superstock 600 Championship gets underway with a new mix of riders ready to fight over the 9 rounds in calendar. Close racing was the main factor of yesterday’s first race of the year at Alcañiz MotorLand Aragón. Pole man Gauthier Duwelz (MTM Racing Yamaha) gets a hard-won victory after a breathtaking 10-lap race on the 5344 m Spanish venue. It's the maiden win for the 19 year old Belgian, who was able to take advantage of the tough four-way battle behind him, eventually making a small mistake towards the end of the race that allowed his rivals to close the gap down to 1 second. The first Event in the European Championship 65cc and 85cc South-Western Europe Zone was held today 14th of April on the well prepared track of Albaida (Spain). In the 65cc class the first heat was won by Russian Nikita Kucherov in front of Spanish Oliver Oriol and Spanish Jorge Ramos. The second heat was won by Spanish David Braceras with second position to Italian Alessandro Facca and third Nikita Kucherov. The 85cc class was dominated by Italian Gianluca Faccetti who won both heats. He was followed in the first heat by Italian Filippo Grigoletto and French Ludovic Bompar. In the second heat second position went to Italian Alberto Forato and Filippo Grigoletto. Next round of the South-Western leg of the Championship will take place in Castiglione sul Lago (Italy) on the 28th of April. (UEM Press Release 20/2013)
