European Sidecar at Vries (The Netherlands)

The 2016 European Sidecar Final was certainly a very competitive race meeting with the event being staged on a very hot and sunny day at Vries in the North of Holland.The over 2000 spectators witnessed some very exciting racing with riders not giving a centimetre during the twelve point scoring qualifying heats. Once all the points were totalled, the remaining field of twelve riders were allocated to the two (B and A) Finals.With the winner and the 2nd placed riders from the B Final being seeded direct into the A Final, racing was again extremely competitive with the English team of Shaun Harvey and Danny Hogg just beating defending European Champion 22 year old Josh Goodwin and Liam Brown for the two places in the main A Final. Here they now lined up against Dutch team William Matthijssen and Sandra Mollema (who had been unbeaten all day) + German crews

European Enduro at Ogre (Latvia) – Preview

Photo @Robert Pairan   After a vigorous start in March and shortly later the second round in France, the  Enduro European-Championship (EEC) lived a long pause before the third round, which is scheduled on 30th and 31st July 2016  at Ogre, in Latvia. A European Enduro round was held in the same venue in 2012 for the first time, with a very well organized race. This time a 62 km long stage has been prepared, which will be faced for three times by the riders. Two enduro-tests and one modern extreme-test are on schedule, too, which will offer a lot of action.There are expected more than 150 riders from 18 Countries, fighting in 8 different classes and, of course, for the overall.The second half of the season has to show whether the young riders, Brad Freeman (in the photo) from England and Nicolas Pellegrinelli from Italy can beat the former

It’s nothing short of awesome and with the European Championship EMX65 and EMX85 finals taking place at the MXGP of Czech Republic, in Loket, today, the world has been gifted a sneak peek at the future of motocross.   Following in the footsteps of MX2’s vice world champion Pauls Jonass; another young Latvian has burst on the scene in the tiny form of Edvards Bidzans. Bidzans was pinned on his KTM65 today. FIM Europe Road Safety Conference at Kavala (Greece)

 The 22nd FIM Europe Congress in Kavala (Greece) hosted the 10th edition of Road Safety Conference, which traditionally deals with the most important and updated topics of the matter. In the latest years, the Road Safety Conference dealt with road accidents, industry responses and initiatives, the systems to improve Road Safety, traumatic injuries and first aid, 2 wheeler behaviour and safety, roadside barriers and crash tests, and devices derived from track, such as airbag for motorcyclists. Last year, the Road Safety Conference dealt with themes related with the development of electronics to increase usability and safety both on track and on road. European Supermoto Championship Calendar Update

The European Supermoto Championship Calendar has been updated: the race of S3, SM Junior and Open scheduled on 23 and 24 July in Crevedia (Romania) has been cancelled and it will not be replaced. The next events will be on 3/4 September at Elektrenai (Lithuania) - except for the Junior Class - and on 29/30 October at Pleven (Bulgaria).

European Motoball Championship at Budel, The Netherlands – Preview

 From July 26th to 31st at Budel, in the Netherlands, the European Motoball Championship will be held. The national teams of the Netherlands, Russia, France, Germany, Lithuania, Belarus and Ukraine will compete for the highest honor in Motoball. Motoball is a particular discipline, which mixes football and motorcycling and - curiosly - it is going to start shortly after the end of European Football Championship. Differently from the European Football series, which is held every four years, the European Motoball Championship is held every year. Invented in France in 1930, Motoball then developed towards eastern Europe and as far as Russia which holds by far the largest number of European wins, despite recent successes by Germany. Currently Motoball is played in Russia, Belarus, Ukraina, Lithuania, France, Netherlands and Germany. The record champion is Russia, but the last two European Championships were won by Germany. European U21 Team Speedway Championship Semi Final at Daugavpils (Latvia)

The European U21 Team Speedway Championship Semi Final was held  at Daugavpils, in Latvia. Heavy rain before the meeting required  40 minutes for additional track preparation. In front of 4.000 spectators 18 riders and 4 teams met in spectacular heats, which saw Denmark winning in front of Czech Republic, with Latvia in third place and Norway in fourth.The run off decided Denmark will take part to the Final, to be held at Stralsund, in Germany, on August 28th.

Supermoto S2 European Championship at Poznan (Poland) Day 2

In cloudy and later sunny warm conditions Milan Sitniansky took his first win of the season in the S2 European championship. After the rain in the morning the first race of the day in the S2 class started under cloudy weather conditions. The organisation did a great job and prepared the off-road section so that it could be used for the race. When the light dropped it was TMS Honda rider Milan Sitniansky who took the holeshot, before Union Bike TM rider Giovanni Bussei who was back after his injury. Behind Bussei it was TM Factory Racing rider Diego Monticelli who took third place before current European championship leader Petr Vorlicek. Gazza Racing rider Luca Ciaglia completed the top five.
