Defending European Sidecar Grass Track champion Josh Goodwin will be aiming to retain his title at this weekend’s European Final, being staged at Vries in North Holland.

The young 22 year old Englishman – together with his passenger Liam Brown – won the title on home soil at High Easter, England in 2014, but was unable to repeat their success last year, when the event was cancelled due to a tragic accident involving German Sidecar rider Stefan Muller who was fatality injured during official practice.
However Dutch Sidecar ace William Matthijssen will be looking to take his forth European title this coming weekend, a triumph that he’s previously achieved in 2007, 2009 and 2011. Matthijssen and his passenger Sandra Mollema will be facing strong opposition, from the other Sidecar teams who will be representing Austria, Denmark, England, France and Germany.
The main threat to Goodwin and Matthijssen will come from Markus Venus and passenger Markus Heiss, one of three top Sidecar teams from Germany.

Trying to spoil the party will be two crews from France (Christophe Grenier with passenger Lilian Pellizzotti and David Chaminade and passenger Stephanie Vedelago) both of whom will be making the long trip up from the South of France, where these riders are based.
With this line up of racers, it’s bound to be an exciting and nail biting racing afternoon for spectators and fans alike.
