European Supermoto Championship 2nd round in Ottobiano (Italy) - Day 2

In the second round of European Supermoto Championship, in Ottobiano (Italy), Marc Reiner Schmidt once again rode immaculately in S2 to extend his lead. Before the start of the season you would have been hard pressed to pick a potential winner in S2, but after the first round of the European Championship in Spain, and after his dominant performance in timed training, there was no mistaking the intent of Marc Reiner Schmidt who once again proved why he will be the man to beat in 2015. He took full advantage of his pole position to take the holeshot before pulling away from his rivals for his third race win of the season.Behind him Yuri Guardalà tried to keep the German rider in his sights but the pace was just too hot for the Italian who was happy to settle for second. European Moto2 and Superbike Championhips First Round in Algarve (Portugal) – Day 1

The new FIM CEV Repsol season began officially this morning with the celebration of the first qualifying sessions. The Algarve International Circuit (Portugal) is hosting the first round of the 2015 season that marks the advent of the Moto3 Junior World Championship, the Moto2 European Championship and the Superbike European Championship. The day proved troublesome for the first riders this morning who encountered a wet track after overnight rain.Riding once again for the Targobank Motorsport team, Xavi Vierge (SPA-Tech3) took pole position in the Moto2 European Championship, with a lap of 1:45.532, comfortably ahead of new rider to the category Luca Marini (ITA-Kalex). Starting in second slot, Marini will be accompanied by teammate Edgar Pons (SPA-Kalex), who completes the first row of the grid. On the second row will be Eric Granados (BRA-Kalex), Alan Techer (FRA-Tech3) and Steven Odeendal (RSA-Kalex). Marcos Ramírez (SPA-Yamaha) stood out in the Superstock 600 category.The

European Motocross Championship Second Round in Holland – Day 1

A storm was expected to rain in Valkenswaard, The Netherlands, round five of the FIM Motocross World Championship, but it never amounted. In this context, round one of the European Championship EMX300 and the second rounds of the EMX250 and EMX125 also took place today.Yentel Martens, the son of former FIM Motocross World Champion Jacky Martens, won the opening moto in the EMX300.Wilvo Forkrent KTM’s Adam Sterry and KTM Factory Juniors’ Jorge Prado Garcia won the first races in the EMX250 and EMX125 respectively. The track was described as unusual today in Valkenswaard as the typically soft surface shaped up to be considerably harder and choppier than expected. European Supermoto Championship 2nd round in Ottobiano (Italy)

Under cloudy skies and with temperatures around 20 degrees the second round of the Supermoto European Championship burst into life in a similar fashion to how the opening race of the season finished three weeks ago, with Marc Reiner Schmidt setting the pace. The S2 European Championship points leader, Marc Reiner Schmidt wasted no time in picking up where he left off by setting the fastest times in both of the free practice sessions today ahead of the official Timed Practice session, edging out Toni Klem and Mattia Martella in Free Practice 1 and Giovanni Bussei and Martella in Free Practice 2, once again showing that he will be the rider to beat at this second round.And when it came down to business the German TM rider’s time of 1:31.465 was almost two and a half seconds quicker than his nearest rival Yuri Guardala’ with Giovanni Bussei three tenths further

European Individual Grass Track Championship At the start

The FIM Europe Individual Grass Track championship will start next Sunday (26th April) with the first of two Semi Finals being staged at Swingfield in the south east of England. This semi-final will be a hotly contested event, with eighteen riders representing  six nations – all of whom will be competing for the nine qualifying places available at the European Final – which will be staged at Staphorst  in the Netherlands on the 18th July.Although the host federation for Sunday’s event (the ACU), has a strong field of five riders, the home favourite must be former European Champion – Andrew Appleton. However the other four ‘Brits’ are not planning for Andrew to have an easy time and he will be put under pressure by Scunthorpe Speedway’s leading rider David Howe. 18 year old James Shanes is one of the England’s fast emerging racers, and this event will be the youngsters

It is with great sadness that FIM Europe informs of the passing away of Mr István Daragó. Member of the MAMS Track Racing Commission and Member of the MAMS Board, Mr Daragó’s dedication and involvement in Track Racing in Hungary have been immense.CCP Referee, CCP Member and CCP Bureau Member, his enthusiasm, his passion and devotion reflected in all the various positions he held within the FIM. He will be sorely missed.

Road Racing Hill Climb European Championship in Landshaag (Austria)

The first round of the Road Racing Hill Climb European Championship was held in Landshaag (Austria).Since it is not a permanent track, 45 people worked for 2 days and 4,000 bales were set, which is a great value added work for all in Hill Climb Championship. In the 250 GP Toni Rechberger from Austria won in front of French Jean Paul Clement and Belgian Bernard Depierreux. In Supersport class it was Italian Francesco Curinga to snatch victory, while Raimund Soellinger jr and Harald Jungwirth, both from Austria, completed the podium.In Superbike class Christian Wiesinger-Mayr from Austria won the race before Markus Mitterbauer and Italian Stefano Bonetti. Motocross European NW 65 cc and 85 cc Championship in Lugau (Germany)

The second round of the Motocross European NW 65 cc and 85 cc Championship was held in Lugau (Germany). In the EMX65 the first race was won by German rider Constantin Piller, while Finnish Kimi Koskinen and Danish Matti Jorgensen completed the podium. In the second race Constantin Piller was able to score another victory, this time in front of Danish Matti Jorgensen and Finnish Kimi Koskinen. In the EMX85 in race1 Dutch Rick Elzinga won in front of Danish Mikkel Haarup and Czech Petr Polak. European Junior Cup serves up more Dutch delight

Round two of the 2015 Pata European Junior Cup, powered by Honda, took place at the famous Assen circuit in the Netherlands today with Javier Orellana taking his second win of the season in front of a large and enthusiastic crowd. Supporting round four of the World Superbike championship, the EJC protagonists produced another thrilling spectacle with 28 identical Honda CBR650F machines doing battle for 10 laps of the iconic 4.542km circuit.Orellana led home a three-rider breakaway but, once again, by a narrow margin, beating pole sitter Hannes Soomer by 0.2s with Emanuele Pusceddu scoring third as he did in the opening race at Aragon in Spain one week ago.With back-to-back wins, Spaniard Orellana now heads the points standings with a margin of 18 points over Pusceddu with Soomer just one point behind in third.In the FIM Europe Women’s European Championship, last weekend’s winner Avalon Biddle crashed out of the
