Speedway European Championship kicks off in Torun (Poland)

There is only one day to the inauguration of Speedway European Championship. The line – up of the championship is very strong, which makes it very difficult to point one favorite for the gold medal. The journalist of Radio Zet and privately an enthusiast of speedway, Michał Korościel has attempted about the opinion on this year’s series of SEC. "I will not be original if I write that this year's European Championship is going to be extremely exciting. European Supermoto SM85 and S3 Championships in Pleven (Bulgaria)

Can Oncu (65) and his brother Deniz, leaders of the SM85 class The all asphalt SuperMoto circuit of Pleven in Bulgaria hosted the second round of the European SuperMoto Championship for the classes SM85 and S3. As usual the track offered perfect conditions for racing and the standard extreme temperatures of 40°C.The SM85 class this season is dominated by the Turkish twins Deniz and Can Oncu who proved to be the top class SuperMoto riders. Their podium in Pleven was not a surprise at all, however the two brothers repeated the Arad scenario from Round 1 and shared one win and one second place each in both heats.Deniz Oncu won the second heat ahead of his brother Can Oncu. The fight for third position as usual was until the last lap: this time local rider Dimitar Petrov struggled in the battle with the Turkish Bahattin Sofuoglu and following a crash

Grass Track Sidecar European Championship Semi Final in Loppersum (Netherlands)

North Dutch town of Loppersum hosted the Semi Final of Sidecar European Championship. Around 2.200 spectators watched in windy and rainy weather very close heats for 6 places and 2 reserve posts. On the final rostrum, Dennis Noordman / Patrick Kremer KNMV, who won ahead of Karl Keil / Stefan Müller DMSB and Imanuel Schramm / Hermann Bacher FMS. Full recognition to 62 year old Karl Keil and his passenger, who qualified in second position for the Final event, which will be held in Hertingen, Germany on August 22. EMX 125 and 300 in Maggiora (Italy)

The start of EMX300 - Photo ©Youthstream It was a diverse weekend for round five of the EMX125 and round three of the EMX300 European Championships with the two day event hosting one race on a dry, hard and slick surface and the second in some of the worst mud the championship has ever seen. Yesterday, the sun-baked circuit of Maggiora was dominated by KTM Factory Juniors Josiah Natzke who claimed his fourth consecutive EMX125 race win, while Swiss rider Killian Auberson took his first ever win in the EMX300. EMX300With the weather taking a turn for the worst today, the EMX300 race was cut short due to torrential rain flooding the circuit. Italian fans remained happy with one of their locals, Manuel Beconcini, claiming the race win and another Italian, Marco Maddii, stealing the overall. EMX Open in Croatia

The Motocross European Championship EMX Open was held this weekend in Croatia in Jastrebarsko-Mladina. Weather condition was very heavy for all riders: it was a sunny weekend, with 35°C. The favourite rider was Martin Michek from Czech Republic who won both races and gained full points. Peter Irt from Slovenia was second and follows with 44 points, before Petr Michalec from Czech Republic with 38 pts. In the EMX Open general standings the leader is Bartos Petr with 200 points, second is Marti Michek with 194 points, and third is Petr Michalec, with 180 points, all from Czech Republic. Speedway European Championship in Torun (Poland) – Preview

On June 20th the Speedway European Championship series will start. At MotoArena in Torun (Poland) the fifteen best riders of Europe will compete for the first points in the general classification, for the title of champion of Europe. Alex Dimitrov, winner of the EMX85 in the latest round of SE Zone, in Sliven, Bulgaria The Croatian Motorcycle Federation (HMS) announces that the round of EMX65 and 85 cc South-East zone scheduled in Mladina (Croatia) on 13 and 14th June has been cancelled. The EMX Open will be regularly held in the same date and racetrack.

European Individual Grass Track Championship Semi-Final 2 in Bielefeld (Germany)

Enrico Janoschka in action at Bielefeld on Sunday Spectators from Germany, the Netherlands, France and England were promised thrilling and exciting racing at Bielefeld (Germany) over the weekend and that’s exactly what they got. Despite a very hot and sunny day, the club worked hard to produce a very fast race track that gave the spectators an excellent racing day at the European Individual Grass Track 2nd Semi Final event.The eighteen competitors quickly adapted to the conditions, which produced some very fast and furious racing.As the meeting progressed, the track conditions improved, and it was difficult to forecast who would be the eventual winner. However once all the qualifying heats had been completed, German rider Enrico Janoschka emerged as the hot favourite, having been unbeaten during the first part of the event. With nine qualifying places (+ one reserve) being available to progress into the European Final at Staphorst (Netherlands)
