Last round of the 2013 Women and Youth Trial EC in Boras (Sweden)

aboutuemGerman Franz Kadlec, Gas Gas, and British Emma Bristow, Sherco, are the two 2013 champions in respectively Youth and Women class in the UEM FIM Europe Trial Championship. This last round was held at Boras, Sweden. A two day-event where as tradition on Saturday all the stage was for the very young riders and for the women.

One of the reasons for interest was to watch the duel among the two riders who shared the provisional standings before this race: Kadlec and British Jack Price, Gas Gas. And they did not disappoint the public, finishing in the first two final positions, but what was curious and – knowing that on grab there was the European title, too – let’s say clamorous , is the fact that both made the same score, the same number of cleans, of dabs, etc. To determine the winner it was necessary to take count of the time. Kadlec won competition and title, because he was the quickest: he ran the whole competition in 2 hours and 16 minutes. Price took almost one hour more. Theirs score was 7 points in total.

Even to ratify who deserved to climb the third step of the podium, it was used the time discriminant. Italian Gabriele Giarba, Beta, lost less time in inspecting and riding the sections than British Dan Peace, Beta, consequently the rostrum was for him. The Italian’s was the quickest absolute: barely 2 hours! The first three riders today were also the first three’s in the championship.

Emma Bristow clinched her title with an other convincing victory, letting in the sections just 3 points in the two laps. She completed the series with 3 successes out of 3 rounds. In second place today and in the final standing, too, German Theresa Baulm, Ossa, who won her personal battle with Italian Sara Trentini, Beta, for the runner-up position in the championship. Sara finished in third place in today competition , too, keeping behind German Pauline Schmitt thanks to 2 cleans more.

Finn Lari Seppälä, Beta triumphed in the Youth International class, beating Swedish Jesper Johansson , Gas Gas, and British Jack Peace , Beta, finished in this order. In the Women International still another success for Norwegian Mette Fidje, Sherco, for sure ready to enter the most quoted category next year. Second German Nadine Faude, Beta, ahead of Swedish Emmelie Andersson , Beta.
