The European Stock 250 4 Strokes Championship took its start in Adria (Italy), last weekend.

Fine weather and over 2500 spectators for the Alpe Adria Series, which hosted the Continental event, aimed to give young riders a stepping stone to start racing in an international contest with affordable costs.
“The first round of the European Stock 250 4 Strokes in Adria was interesting under many aspects”, comments Luigi Favarato, President of Alpe Adria Motorcycle Union. “First of all, we have to remark the competiveness of the motorcycles; in fact, the two races were held in the context of the Moto3 Alpe Adria with a unique starting grid and separate standings, and some riders of the European contest placed themselves ahead of the Moto3, which are much more expensive. Both races were tight, and the riders overtook each other continuously.
“I am sure that after these races the riders who contacted me to apply to the European Stock 250 and who afterwards decided to buy a Moto3 are wondering why they did it!” states Favarato. “The motorcycle to race in the European 250 Stock 4 Strokes championship costs less than 10.000 euro and it’s a very good step to pass from Mini Bikes to Moto3.  We have had the participation of three different brands: Moriwaki, Sherco and RMU. I am sure that now, seeing how challenging and entertaining this series is, more and more riders will participate”.
