European Baja Championship Riverside

Baja Riverside webThe second round of European Baja Championship was held last weekend from Rechnitz (Austria) to Sárvár (Hungary).

For the first leg the weather was mostly sunny, with 18-20°C.
It was a long day with two long special stages and two shorter stages, quite easy but dusty.
There were many time penalties during the day for different reasons.
In Bike class the winner was Rudolf Lhotsky from Czech Republic; in Quad Pawel Otwinowski from Poland won the Overall and the Q1, while Maciej Albinowski, from Poland, too, won the Q2. The Italian rider Giammarco Fossa is the winner in UTV category. Hungarian Matyas Somfai won the Open class.

For the second leg, nice weather and very good special stages together with a local rally. No accidents and no penalties. There were in total 8 special stages, all on gravel today.
In Bike class Rudolf Lhotsky from Czech Republic confirmed his first place and is the leader of the general standings after the first two events. In Quad Arkadiusz Bernat from Poland won the Overall and the Q1, where he leads the general standings.
Polish rider Jaroslaw Kalinowski won in the Q2 class and confirms himself at the top of the general standings.
Italian Graziano Scandola was the fastest in the UTV class and is the provisional leader of the championship.
Hungarian Laller Horvath won the Open Moto and Matyas Somfai was the winner in the Open Quad.
