EMX65 and EMX85 South-Western Europe in Castiglion del Lago (Italy)

aboutuemThe Italian motocross track of Castiglione del Lago, located near the city of Perugia was the host of the second round of the European Championship 65cc-85cc South-Western Zone. As usual in Italy, the track was greatly prepared and the little riders were eager to race.

Italian Gianluca Facchetti (Suzuki) managed to impose himself as the winner of the first EMX85 race. He was the only leader of the race being on the top spot from the start to finish. French rider Ludovic Bompar (KTM) did not get the best start and after lap one he was just outside top 10. This did not mean that he gave up fighting, earning position by postion until he was second. Third place went to Italian Filippo Grigoletto (KTM).

After having to settle for second place in the first race French rider Ludovic Bompar (KTM) put the wheels in motion and won the second race after a close fight with Italian rider Gianluca Facchetti (Suzuki) who only managed second in this heat. Last step of the podium in the second EMX85 race was won by Italian Gabriele Oteri (TM).

First race of EMX65 was a closed affair with Italian rider Cristino Kevin (KTM) leading from start to finish. Second all race was Italian Alessandro Facca (KTM) while Austrian Rene Hofer (KTM) occupied third place throught-out the race.

Second race of EMX65 had more or less the same script, Italian rider Cristino Kevin (KTM) again dominating and leading for the whole race. As in the first race second place went to Italian rider Alessandro Facca (KTM). Russian rider Nikita Kukerov was able to start in front and maintain his good position, thus finishing third the second race and the overall.

Next and third round of the Championship will take place in Brezice (Slovenia) on the 11-12th of May.
