The sixth round in the European Championship Open Class was held today in Kovel (Ukraine). The track was situated in the middle of few small lakes with sandy track. A good position for the 7 thousand attending the event,. The weather was warm and sunny, 28 degrees, on Sunday after Race 1 started heavy rain. In class Open in race 1, first place Toms Macuks (KTM) from Latvia, second place Alexander Bugreev (Yamaha) from Russia and third place Alexander Efimov (KTM) from Russia. In race 2, first place Toms Macuks (KTM) from Latvia, second place Alexander Efimov (KTM) from Russia and third place Alexander Kurashev (KTM) from Russia. Overall results first place Toms Macuks (KTM) from Latvia , second place Alexander Efimov (KTM) from Russia and third place Alexander Bugreev (Yamaha) from Russia. Track of Sosnova (Czech Republic) hosted round 3 of European Supermoto championship for class ES2, and for Young Trophy as well. 25 riders participate at the event and races were supported by many Czech motorsport fans. Race 1 has been red flagged in the second lap due to the accident; fortunately there were no serious injuries for the riders. In the repeated start Edgardo Borella (Yamaha) had the best start and was leading the first half of the race. Then he lost two positions in just one lap, and Malachi Mitchell-Thomas (TM) took the lead, with Asseri Kingelin (Honda) on the second place. First three positions remained the same to the finish of race 1. Mitchell-Thomas has been also winner of Youth trophy in race one, followed by Diego Monticelli (Honda) on second and Frederic Guerin (Suzuki) on third place. The European SuperMoto Championship SM Junior, S3 and OPEN went this weekend to Vransko, Slovenia, for the fourth consecutive year on the circuit Vrana. The third event of the series for the SM Junior class was marked by the big battle between the Bulgarian Hakan Halmi (KTM) and Austrian Maximilian Kofler (KTM). In the first race Maximilian won against Hakan with a difference of just 0,5 sec, leaving Ivelin Manev (KTM, Bulgaria) on the third place. The second race for the juniors was won by Halmi, following a mistake of Kofler in the offroad section, Manev being second. Finally the podium in the SM Junior class was composed by Hakan Halmi as the winner, Maximilian Kofler on the second place and Ivelin Manev third. In the Kids trophy 65cc, this time the winner was Dimitar Petrov from Bulgaria, followed by Andreas Kofler (Austria), both with KTMs, third finished Georgi Totev

The third and last Semi-Final of the Individual Speedway Junior European Championship was held in the French track of Macon. The winner was French David Bellago in front of Czech Vaclav Milik and third position to German Valentin Grobauer. The Final of the Individual Speedway Junior European Championship is scheduled on the 24th of August in Gustrow (Germany). (UEM Press Release 70/2013)    

The second round of the MAXXIS Quadcross European Championship was held this weekend in the Dutch track of Varsseveld. The French Jérémie Warnia (DWT) won both heats. In the first heat in front of Dutch Mike van Grinsven (W-TEC) and Belgian Jan Vlaeymans (W-TEC). In the second heat second position went to Vlaeymans and Latvian Edgars Mengelis (Yamaha). In the provisional rankings Warnia leads with 100 points in front of Mike van Grinsen with 71 points. The next round is scheduled next weekend the 22nd and 23rd of June in Genk (Belgium). The new Hill Climb Road Racing European Championship completed its second round this weekend at Imperia (Italy) with 42 riders enrolled for the European Championship. The twisty track between Carpasio and Prati Piani welcomed all riders with beautiful sunshine. But unfortunately both practice and race were accompanied by fog and mist. Finally the second heat of the race had to be canceled because of this reason. The winners of the different categories were the following: Moto3/125GP: Giovanni Ronzoni (ITA, Honda) 250cc Open: Pierre Favre (FRA, Yamaha) Sidecar: Oliver Dichamp/Vincent Peugeot (FRA, LCR) Superbike: Jean Noel Salvi (FRA, Honda) Supermoto Open: Luca Gottardi (ITA, Aprilia) Supersport: Stefano Manici (ITA, Triumph) Superstock 600: Francesco Curinga (ITA, FMI) Superstock 1000: Christophe Balmer (SUI, BMW) Next round is scheduled in Chatel St Denis (Switzerland) on the 29-30th of June. The second round of the Bajas European Championship was held from the 13th to the 16th of June in Baja Mare (Romania). In the Moto Overall class the winner was the Portuguese Pedro Bianchi Prata (Husqvarna) in front of Czech Rudolf Lhosty (KTM) and Portuguese Rui Costa (Husqvarna). In the Quad Overall class the victory went to Polish Lukasz Laskawiec (Yamaha) followed by Polish Kamil Wisniewki (Yamaha) and Czech Tomas Kubiena. In the provisional rankings, after two rounds, Pedro Bianchi Prata is first with 87 points in the Moto class, while in the Quad class Lukasz Laskawiec and Kamil Wisniewski are first with 70 points each. Next round is scheduled in Pàpa (Hungary) from the 15th to the 18th of August. (UEM Press Release 67/2013)    

The Dragbike European Championship started this weekend in the Swedish track of Tierp. On Friday was held only 1 qualifications round, as the race was called off beacuse of rain at 18,00. Saturday everything went well with 2 qualification rounds as in the program. The winner in PSB class was German Karl-Heinz Weikum (Suzuki), runner up Swedish Ulf Øgge (Suzuki) and third Swedish Kalle Lyren (Suzuki). Winner in STB was Swedish Ulf Ledstrøm (Super Twin Top Fuel), runner up Finnish Vesa Lipponen (Dixie). Winner in TFB was Swedish Peter Svensson (Billet Racing), runner up is Swedish Rikard Gustafsson (Puma). The second round is scheduled will take place from the 4th to the 7th of July in Alastaro (Finland). (UEM Press Release 66/2013)  

Also this year the Albacete track will host on the 5th and 6th of October the Road Racing European Championship to be held in a single event for riders of the Moto 3, Supersport 600cc. and Superstock 1000cc. classes. To the event will be admitted the first 5 qualified riders of each of the above mentioned classes in the national Open Championship of Spain, France, Germany, the Netherlands and Italy plus the first four riders of the Regional Championships of the Nordic, Alpe Adria and Eastern Europe regions. The remaining participants will be chosen by the organizers after studying the applications received, as the regulations stipulate. The registration period is now open and ends on September.
