6th Round of Supermoto EC in Triscina (Italy)

aboutuemSunny Triscina in Sicily welcomed the riders of the European SuperMoto Championship on the circuit Kartodrome Castelvetrano for the sixth round of the series this year. Having no big difference in the points of the top five riders the question for the weekend was who will be the new leader?

So the first race saw the two KTMs of Devon Vermeulen (NED) and Toni Klem (FIN) finishing first and second with a minimal gap of 0.4 sec. Edgardo Borella (Yamaha) from Italy finished third. Malachi Mithchel Thomas (GBR, TM) made a mistake in the beginning of the race but that gave a chance to Aseri Kingelin (FIN, Honda) to show his skills and finish at the fourth place, four seconds after Borella.

The second race was the race of Aseri Kingelin who managed to avoid any mistakes and finish first, followed by Edgardo Borella and Tomi Klem on the third place. Devon Vermullen and Malachi Thomas Mitchel had difficult moments trough the race and finished fourth and fifth.

Following the points scored, the podium was composed by Borella-third with 42 points, Vermullen second with 43 points and Kingelin made his maiden top finish for the season, also with 43 points but with a win in the second race.

After the race in Triscina, the new owner of the red number plate is the Italian rider Edgardo Borella (233 points), followed by Vermeulen 4 points behind (229) and Kingelin is third with 227 points and Thomas Mitchel is just a point behind with 226 points.

For the Young trophy, the podium was composed by the winner of the trophy this week Vermeulen, seconf on the podium was Mitchel Thomas and third Diego Monticelli from Italy.

The last event for the season will be next week in Rivesaltes, France.
