European EMX 65, 85 and ITP Quad at Slagelse (Denmark)

It was a sunny racing Saturday in Slagelse (Denmark) for 105 riders in three classes: EMX 65, EMX 85 and EMX ITP Quad, in the first event of the season. In the EMX 85 the riders faced two qualification races: Rasmus Pedersen from Denmark won race A in front of Emil Jönrup (SWE) and Noel Nilsson (SWE). Qualification race B was won by Anton Nagy from Sweden in front of Lewis Hall (GBR) and Kay Karssemakers (NED).In the EMX 65 class Liam Everts from Belgium dominated finishing in front of Sem de Lange (NED) and Ivano van Erp (NED). In EMX ITP Quad Mike van Grinsven from Holland was the winner in front of Edgars Mengelis (LAT) and Ingo Ten Vregelaar (NED).

European Motocross EMX65 and 85 SE in Gevgelija (FYROM) Cancelled

Aida Cojanu finished 65cc Race1 at the third place in the first round of South Eastern Zone As communicated by MFMA, the European Motocross Championship EMX65 and EMX85 event in Gevgelija, Former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia, scheduled for 16/17.04.2016 is cancelled due to the risky situation at the GRE/MKD border, which is situated just a kilometer away from the circuit. The situation is considered not 100% safe for the riders as there is a too big migrants camp and the police does not recommend having the event there at this moment.

European EMX 65, 85 and Open at Brezice (Slovenia)

The circuit of Brezice, in Slovenia, hosted the first round of European Motocross Championship 65cc, 85cc and Open. The weather was sunny and warm for the whole weekend and around 4.500 spectators watched the races. EMX 65The EMX 65 was dominated by three riders Russi, Gutierrez and Barbier. Winner of both manches was Russi from Italy, in front of Gutierrez and Barbier. EMX 85The race started with a holeshot of home rider nr 273 Mausser. He took the lead followed by two Italian riders who struggled with Hofer, author of a bad start. After half distance Hofer was the leader in front of Mausser and Italian Capuzzo . At the end it was Hofer to win in front of Mauzzer and Capuzzo. In the second heat Hofer and Mausser didn’t give a chance to other riders. European Supersport at Aragon (Spain)

San Carlo Team Italia riders Bassani and Zaccone were the key players from the new FIM Europe Supersport Class, which races in the context of the World Supersport. Bassani and Zaccone challenged the regulars in the top 5, with Schmidt Racing’s local rider and former 125 Champion Nico Terol getting past both and able to get himself into podium contention before pulling away to find a margin to breathe, crossing the line for his first rostrum of the year in World Supersport.At the end Zaccone (in the photo) won in front of Bassani. Third place for Mikhalchik, from Ucraine.

European Supermoto at Jerez (Spain)

Race 1As the lights went out for the opening race of the year, pole-sitter Petr Vorlicek reacted quickest to take the holeshot ahead of Milan Sitniansky, Diego Monticelli, Luca Ciaglia and Kevin Fagre. Giovanni Bussei was 7th behind Lorenzo Promutico. For the first two laps the positions remained the same, but the first rider to start advancing was Bussei; first making the most of a mistake from Promutico who fell back to 13th. The following lap and Bussei was 5th after passing Fagre and two laps later the Italian found himself in 4th when Ciaglia fell to 7th.Despite getting his head down Bussei was not able to close in on the leaders and when the first three riders eventually crossed the finish line, they did so in the same positions they started, with Vorlicek taking the first win of the season from Sitniansky and Monticelli. European Trial in Pietramurata (Italy) - Day2

Miquel Gelabert @ Candellone In the first round of the FIM Europe Trial Championship held in Pietramutata (Italy), the 18 year old Spanish rider Miquel Gelabert (Sherco) - second in the last year's World Junior class - beated Francesc Moret (Vertigo) who in 2015 had contested the European title to Italian Gianluca Tournour. Moret's country mate, Gelabert, today showed a good maturity, both as riding skill and ability to maintain concentration. He started an excellent first lap, in which he lost just 2 points. Moret was not far, having scored 7, but all the others were quite behind. Gabriele Giarba (Montesa) scored 13 and was ahead of Dan Peace (Beta) with 14. The second lap did not offer any surprises. Gelabert made some more mistakes but his score was still the best: 11 penalities. Moret had just one point more. Giarba kept the third place, scoring 20.In the Junior class

Many important topics have been discussed, like the report of the President, the report of the Secretary General, the report of the Chairman of the Sporting Council, the report of the Chairman of the Non-Sporting Council, as well as various reports from the other Vice-Presidents.During the FIM Europe Management Council meeting, special attention was given to the report of the Treasurer, as well as the report of the Auditors. The 2015 Balance-Sheet was approved and so was the 2016 Budget. The preparation of the FIM Europe Congress in Kavala, Greece (June 30th – July 2nd 2016)

European Trial in Pietramurata (Italy)

Theresa Baeuml @ Candellone German Theresa Baeuml (Beta) and Italian Lorenzo Gandola (Scorpa) topped the first podiums respectively in Women and Youths classes in Pietramurata, Italy, first round of the 2016 FIM Europe Trial Championship. Seventy young riders are taking part to this first event of a real “evergreen” series: a championship that does not know the “crisis” word. On the 12 sections in the private area, easily reachable by spectators, the girls started first on a cloudy spring day. The last year’s champion, Baeuml, showed soon her intention to defend the title. She lost just 7 points in the whole first loop, while all her rivals’ scores were quite distant. European Trial Championship kicking off in Pietramurata (Italy)

The European Champion in 2015 Gianluca Tournour @Candellone The 25th edition of the FIM Europe Trial championship is on the go. In the next weekend for the third consecutive year, in Pietramurata, Trentino region, North-East of Italy, the Riva del Garda club will have the honor to host the start of every series in these two days of competitions. As tradition on Saturday the scene is reserved to Youths and Women. Two loops with 12 sections each, all inside a close area, easily reachable by spectators. In order to give chances to compete to everybody, independently of their own riding skills, there are also two sub-classes, named “International”, for both Youth and Women, with sections at a lower level.Up to this moment already 175 riders have sent their entry-forms. European Snowcross Championship in Alta (Norway)

As announced in FIM Europe press release of March 23rd, following the cancellation because of the unsuitable weather conditions of the 2 events that were scheduled in Estonia and Russia for the 2016 European Snowcross Championship, this championship will now be combined with the World Championship event in Alta, Norway on Friday and Saturday 8/9 April.
