Road Racing Hill Climbing in Imperia (Italy)

The new Hill Climb Road Racing European Championship completed its second round this weekend at Imperia (Italy) with 42 riders enrolled for the European Championship. The twisty track between Carpasio and Prati Piani welcomed all riders with beautiful sunshine. But unfortunately both practice and race were accompanied by fog and mist. Finally the second heat of the race had to be canceled because of this reason. The winners of the different categories were the following: Moto3/125GP: Giovanni Ronzoni (ITA, Honda) 250cc Open: Pierre Favre (FRA, Yamaha) Sidecar: Oliver Dichamp/Vincent Peugeot (FRA, LCR) Superbike: Jean Noel Salvi (FRA, Honda) Supermoto Open: Luca Gottardi (ITA, Aprilia) Supersport: Stefano Manici (ITA, Triumph) Superstock 600: Francesco Curinga (ITA, FMI) Superstock 1000: Christophe Balmer (SUI, BMW) Next round is scheduled in Chatel St Denis (Switzerland) on the 29-30th of June. Bajas European Championship in Baja Mare (Romania)

The second round of the Bajas European Championship was held from the 13th to the 16th of June in Baja Mare (Romania). In the Moto Overall class the winner was the Portuguese Pedro Bianchi Prata (Husqvarna) in front of Czech Rudolf Lhosty (KTM) and Portuguese Rui Costa (Husqvarna). In the Quad Overall class the victory went to Polish Lukasz Laskawiec (Yamaha) followed by Polish Kamil Wisniewki (Yamaha) and Czech Tomas Kubiena. In the provisional rankings, after two rounds, Pedro Bianchi Prata is first with 87 points in the Moto class, while in the Quad class Lukasz Laskawiec and Kamil Wisniewski are first with 70 points each. Next round is scheduled in Pàpa (Hungary) from the 15th to the 18th of August. (UEM Press Release 67/2013)

First round of the Dragbike European Championship in Tierp (Sweden)

The Dragbike European Championship started this weekend in the Swedish track of Tierp. On Friday was held only 1 qualifications round, as the race was called off beacuse of rain at 18,00. Saturday everything went well with 2 qualification rounds as in the program. The winner in PSB class was German Karl-Heinz Weikum (Suzuki), runner up Swedish Ulf Øgge (Suzuki) and third Swedish Kalle Lyren (Suzuki). Winner in STB was Swedish Ulf Ledstrøm (Super Twin Top Fuel), runner up Finnish Vesa Lipponen (Dixie). Winner in TFB was Swedish Peter Svensson (Billet Racing), runner up is Swedish Rikard Gustafsson (Puma). Registration for the Road Racing European Championship

Also this year the Albacete track will host on the 5th and 6th of October the Road Racing European Championship to be held in a single event for riders of the Moto 3, Supersport 600cc. and Superstock 1000cc. classes. To the event will be admitted the first 5 qualified riders of each of the above mentioned classes in the national Open Championship of Spain, France, Germany, the Netherlands and Italy plus the first four riders of the Regional Championships of the Nordic, Alpe Adria and Eastern Europe regions. The remaining participants will be chosen by the organizers after studying the applications received, as the regulations stipulate. The registration period is now open and ends on September. Application forms can be downloaded from www.europeanchamp.com/how-to-apply. As an extra incentive for participants, prize money of more than 90,000 € will be distributed among the three categories. Superstock 600cc European Championship in Portimao (Portugal)

The fourth round of the Superstock 600cc Road Racing European Championship was held yesterday in Portimao (Portugal). The first Practice on Friday was running under perfect conditions, after the start of the second Qualifying on Saturday, the first drop of rain is coming and all riders come in to the pit. The Race Direction decided of Wet-Practice and on the end of the Qualifying the track was dry. The race was fought spectacularly among the first 4 riders! Every time changed the leader and on the end of the race the winner Franco Morbidelli (Italy/Kawasaki) was 0,06” before the second rider Gauthier Duwelz (BEL/Yamaha) and this 0,1” before the third Bastien Chesaux (SUI/Honda) The provisional rankings see the leadership of Gautier Duwelz with 77 points in front of Swiss Bastien Chesaux with 56 points. Second round of Supermoto European Championship in Pleven (Bulgaria)

The world-wide recognized Supermoto track of Pleven (Bulgaria) was the host of the second round of European Supermoto SOpen, S3 and SMJunior Championship 2013. Angel Karanyotov of Bulgaria (Honda) managed to take the holeshot, lead through-out the complete first race and win the SOpen class in front of Bulgarian Alexander Georgiev (KTM). First race podium of SOpen class was completed by Romanian Sorin Traistaru (KTM). In S3 class Bulgarian Borislav Stoimenov (KTM) managed to defend his leading position in front of Turkish rider Asrin Rodi Pak (KTM), earning the first spot. Third after these two riders finished Bulgarian Veselin Ivanov (Honda). First race of SM Junior was very animated, with Bulgarian Hakan Halmi (KTM) and Austrian Maximilian Kofler (KTM) in front of the race from the beginning. EMX65 and 85 NW Europe in Bielstein (Germany)

The fourth round in the European Championship EMX 85cc and EMX 65cc (North Western leg) was held today (9th of June) in Bielstein (Germany). The training and qualifying races was held on Saturday on a well prepared, and perfect watered track. The fastest rider in the 85cc class was Conrad Mewse (KTM) and he has the pool position to the races on Sunday, in the 65cc class was the fastest rider Emil Weckmann (KTM) and he has the pool position to the races on Sunday In the first race in the EMX 85cc class was Conrad Mewse (KTM) first over the finish line followed by Jorge Prado (KTM) and on the third place came Danne Karlsson (KTM). Second round of EMX250 European Championship in Ernee (France)

Round two of the EMX250 European Championship took place today at the spectator friendly circuit of Ernée, France, where Guillod Motorsport’s Valentin Guillod claimed his second victory of the 2013 season. Jeremy Seewer was second and Cereil Klein Kromhof completed the top three. In the opening stages of the race it was Ceriel Klein Kromhoff who took the lead followed by Valentin Guillod, Brian Bogers and Killian Auberson. While the Dutchman Klein Kromhoff was charging out front, there was no holding off the wrath of the current red plate holder Swiss Valentin Guillod who managed to pass Klein Kromhoff around mid race and lead until the finish. Starting from outside the top five Rockstar Energy Suzuki Europe’s Jeremy Seewer put in an outstanding ride. Despite the narrow track Seewer managed to push his way through the pack passing Klein Kromhoff in the closing stages of the race to finish second
