European Classic Series in Aragon (Spain)

The last race of 2015 for the European Classic Series started on Friday October 30th with the 4  hours of Aragon at the Motorland Aragon circuit. With perfect weather and a very good organization, the riders had 3 sessions of free practices followed by 3 sessions of qualifying plus a one hour night practice.From the 28 teams that started the day, 27 qualified for the race which will start today, Saturday, at 16.35.    The best lap times were made by bike number 4 from the Sweatshop Phase One team with Stéphane Mertens and Ian Simpson in the Maxi Classic class; bike number 333 from the Scuderia Officine Toscane with Emiliano Bellucci and Oreste Zaccarelli  in the Classic 1000 class; bike number 112 from the Capelli Belli team with Eckhard Struck, Manfred Sieg and Robert Bohmhauer in the 750TT class.We expect an exiting race as the final win in class

European Enduro Championship in Rüdersdorf (Germany) – Day 1

Tom Sagar (Photo @Robert Pairan) More than 130 riders from the Enduro European Championship took the start on Friday evening with the prologue of the final competition in the German city of Rüdersdorf (east of capital Berlin). Inside the industrial museum the parc ferme was hosted inside the historical buildings und the track of the Test was along the Buelow canal.It became dark very early and the veteran Werner Müller from Austria was the first to set the best time, which hold for more than one hour.On the tough track the old champion had no problems, but the respect of the big crowd watching this test.At the end was it the Brit Tom Sagar to set the very fastest time among all the riders with a gap of 3,6 seconds on Jaromir Romancic from Czech Republik and the French Rudy Cotton.But this test was only the prelude to two days of

Cooperation with FIM Africa will be intensified

The participants of the FIM Africa General Assembly - Photo @Bob Dewar FIM Europe President Dr Wolfgang Srb has attended the General Assembly of FIM Africa in the Emperors Convention Centre in Johannesburg, held on 23/24 October, representing the FIM. Federations from Botswana, Kenya, Namibia, South Africa, Uganda, Zambia, Zimbabwe and  Madagascar were present and discussed general African issues as well as relevant topics related to their regions. First session of Sporting Commissions Meeting in Fiumicino (Italy)

The participants of the Sporting Commissions in Fiumicino, near Rome (Italy) The FIM Europe Commission Meetings have been opened by the first session of Sporting Commissions, which will be followed by the second session of Sporting Commissions in November and by the Non-Sporting Commissions next January. The meeting was held, as in the past, in Tiber Hotel in Fiumicino, near Rome (Italy). In this first session, the meeting of Motocross, Enduro, Trial, Supermoto and Drag Racing Commissions were held, with the participation of the Sporting Council Chairman Mr Martin de Graaff and of FIM Europe Secretary General Mr Alessandro Sambuco. Joining the meeting, also Oriol Puig Bulto, Director of International Technical Commission of FIM, Tony Skillington, Director of Motocross Commission of FIM and Thierry Michaud, Director of the Trial Commission of FIM. European Enduro Championship in Rüdersdorf (Germany) – Preview

Maurizio Micheluz, the Italian defending champion The final of the Enduro Championship will be held from October 30th to November 1st in the German city of Rüdersdorf (in the east of Berlin). The start is scheduled on Friday evening with a prologue. From 17:00 clock, the participants of the European Championship will compete there in pairs against each other. The race for the two days foresees three courses on the 62 kms track, with three different special stages. One of them is right in the paddock. The start will be on Saturday at 8:00 and on Sunday from 7:30 already. The main focus is the fight for the title in the Overall standings: the fastest rider of all classes is the Brit Tom Sagar. European Vintage Regularity Cup at Slovakiaring (Slovakia)

The circuit of Slovakia hosted the European Vintage Regularity Cup, which saw 74 riders in five different classes. The day started with a temperature of 4 degrees above zero for the practice, but in the afternoon the races were held with an Autumn sun that allowed the execution without any problems. The participants praised the excellent work of Peter Balaz, who once again created an event able to catch the interest of riders coming from Slovakia, Czech Republic, Austria, Germany and Hungary. Class A1 (Motorcycles up to year 1949, 125cc up to year 1975 and 50cc up to year 1988) was won by Frank Seidl in front of Lubomir Kamenar and Karel Kupra;   Class A2 (175cc, 250 cc up to year 1975) was won by Bernd Pollmann in front of Frank Seidl and Stefan Vacula;       Class B (350cc, 500cc up to year 1975) was won by Jan Cizek (in the

Meeting of the Nordic Motorsport Council in Copenhagen (Denmark)

The traditional meeting of NMC (Nordic Motorsport Council, one of the six Regional Associations of FIM Europe) took place from 10-11 October in the Scandic Hotel Sydhavnen in Copenhagen. The venue of the meeting changes on a yearly basis; in 2015 the "Denmarks Motor Union - DMU" was the host, while next years meeting will take place in Finland. DMU President Jorgen Bitsch welcomed some 80 participants from the five member Federations Denmark, Finland, Iceland, Norway and Sweden and - as a guest - the representative from Estonia.Meetings were held in the following disciplines, discussing the 2015 season as well as the activities in the Nordic Championships in 2016: Classic Road Racing, Drag Racing, Enduro, Motocross, Snowcross, Road Racing/Minimoto, Track Racing/Speedway, Trial and Supermoto.Meetings of the Presidents and Secretary Generals completed the agenda.In the framework of the weekend an important meeting on the subject "Road Safety for Motorcyclists" took place,

PIETRAMURATA (Italy), 11 October 2015 – It was an epic end to the season for the Italian Federation as their young guns, Ivo Monticelli, Morgan Lesiardo, Emilio Scuteri and Gioele Palance wrapped up the 2015 Motocross of European Nations title. Meanwhile the female Italian team added to the hype of the Italian crowd as Kiara Fontanesi and Francesca Nocera dominated the Women’s Motocross of European Nations to make this weekend, at the picturesque circuit of Pietramurata in Italy, an all-Italian affair. 125cc & 250ccWhen the gates dropped it was the Frenchman Alexis Verhaeghe who took the holeshot but was passed almost immediately by Team Sweden’s Alvin Ostlund. FIM Europe Supermono Cup in Assen (The Netherlands)

The European Supermono Cup was held at Assen, NL together with the BeNeCup under the name Battle of Nations. The event had many nations competing in the different classes and 21 riders participated. The weather was slightly cold but it was a good race weekend. Race 1 (Saturday): Lukas Wimmer, the championship leader, took the lead before Josef Frauenschuh and Jerry van de Bunt on third place. Jerry overtook Josef on lap 6 and Lukas had a comfortable ride to the win, before Jerry van de Bunt and Josef Frauenschuh. Ari Voss who started from third place on the grid crashed at the first lap. Race 2 (Sunday): in the morning it was cold, just below zero, but the race was at 13.10 and the temperature was slightly better, approx 10 degrees.
