EMX65, EMX85 and Women’s Championship at Esbjerg (Denmark) – Day 2

The first round of the EMX 65/65 European Championship of North West Zone an d t heEMX Women was held in Dennmark on the sandy track of Esbjerg. The weather onSunday was very good. It was cloudy with a temperature of around 12 degrees. The track was very well prepared and all riders were looking forward to exciting races. EMX85 - In Race1, Dutch Kay de Wolf was able to achieve the first place. In second place followed Belgian Liam Everts ahead of Tobias Caprani from Denmark. In Race2 DutchKay De Wolf prevailed again ahead of Kay Karssemakers from The Netherlands and of Liam Everts from Belgium. The overall was Kay de Wolf in front of Liam Everts and Kay Karssemakers. EMX65 – Race1 was won by a female rider from the Netherlands, Lotte Van Drunen. In second place Dutch Bradley Mesters ahead of Anton Isaksson from Sweden. In Race2,

Road Race Hill Climb European Championship at Landshaag (Austria)

The first round of European Hill Climb Championship was held at the traditional location at Landshaag, in Austria. Mr. Martin de Graaff, FIM Europe 1st Deputy President, visited the event. Besides the high level of organisation and nice number of spectators – around 15.000 - all the practices and heats were completed in optimal dry, sunny conditions without any crashes. In the practices the fastest rider in FIM Europe classes were: in 250cc Guido Testoni (FMI), in Supersport: Rafael Neuner (AMF), in Superbike: Wolfgang Gammer (AMF), in Supermono Open: Josef Frauenschuh (AMF). mde The winners of the races on Sunday are: in 250cc Guido Testoni from Italy; in Supersport Rafael Neuner from Austria; in Superbike Wolfgang Gammer from Austria; in Supermono Open Josef Frauenschuh from Austria. Individual Speedway Euro Championship at Pardubice (Czech Republic)

The town of Pardubice in the east of the Czech Republic hosted the SemiFinal 4 of the Individual Speedway European Championship, which was held in front of around 1100 spectators. The meeting was run with sunny, warm weather. 18 riders took part to the event. Thanks to the work of the local organizers, the track was ready for a perfect competition and the spectators enjoyed a very good race. Antonio Lindback from Sweden won ahead of German Kai Huckenbeck and of home rider Eduard Karcmar, and the three riders qualified to the challenge which will be held in Terenzano in one week (on May 5th) The meeting was crash free and was run over in less than 3 hours. Individual Speedway Euro Championship at Gorican (Croatia)

It was a superb meeting with many riders on equal points fighting for “Last chance” heat. Weather was perfect for an evening race, track was very well maintained and provided excellent racing. The winner Andriy Karpov from Ukraine ended second in the regular part after 20 heats behind his countryman Aleksandr Loktaev, but he managed to be at his best in the semifinal, where Loktaev conquered the second place. Local favourite Jurica Pavlic gave the crowd something to cheer about with his spirited ride, securing the spot, firstly in the last chance heat and then conquering the third place in the semifinal which leads to the ECC. Individual Speedway Euro Championship at Debrecen (Hungary)

In sunny, hot weather, the Semi-Final 3 of the Individual Speedway Euro Championship was held at Debrecen, in Hungary, in front of around 2.000 spectators. The event finished with three Danish riders on the podium: Mikkel Michelsen won ahead of Peter Kildeman and Nikolai Klindt. Since only two riders from the same Federation can go forward to the Final, Josef Franc from Czech Republic will do his access to the event instead of Klindt. The final will take place at Lonigo, in Italy, on May 5th.

Individual Speedway Euro Championship at Balakovo (Russia)

In sunny weather on the restaging date the Individual Speedway European Championship returned to the Russian city of Balakovo in front of a big crowd of around 8.000 spectators. The event had many exciting moments and it was mainly the competition between the Polish and Russian riders to keep high the emotions. The final heat decided that two Russian riders qualified for the European Championship: Ilia Chalov won in front of Andrei Kudriashov, both from Russia, with Polish Krystian Pieszczek in third position. Motocross of European Nations will return to Poland

Youthstream and FIM Europe are pleased to announce that the 2018 Motocross of European Nations as well as the Women’s Motocross of European Nations will be held on the 8th and 9th of September and will once again return to Poland. The event will be held at the Gdansk circuit for the second year in a row. Hosting both the 2005 and 2017 editions the Gdansk venue, the Polish organization and their commitment in further developing the venue, have paved the way for this much awaited return. Freestyle European Championship at Munich (Germany)

For the eight time, the best riders from Night of the Jumps flew through the sold out Olympic Hall in Munich on Saturday night. 10 riders from five nations were invited to the opening round of the FIM European FMX Championship and were lifted by the collective cheering of the 10,000 strong crowd. The list of riders was incredibly strong with the 4-time consecutive, reigning World Champion, Maikel Melero (ESP), Libor Podmol (CZE), David Rinaldo (FRA) and Remi Bizouard (FRA) as the FIM World Champions to grace the track. All riders had only one goal, and that was to beat the German FMX Wunderkind, Luc Ackermann on his home turf, after sealing the win in NIGHT of the JUMPs Berlin after landing his Double Backflip. It wouldn’t be an easy task of course, with the 20-year old German riding so much smoother and safer in 2018 despite his aggressive style.

EMX 65/85 and Open at Brezice (Slovenia)

Slovenia hosted the first round of the EMX Open European Championship and the second round of EMX SW zone 65&85 European Championships. Qualifying races took place in a sunny, hot weather. Italian rider Brando Rispoli won the EMX 65 Qualifying race in front of Slovenian best rider Jaka Peklaj and of the winner of the first round, Italian Alessandro Gaspari. Spanish riders were dominating in the EMX 85 Qualifying race. The pole position was taken by Raul Garcia Sanchez ahead of Antonio Gallego Ramos and Italian Andrea Viano. Slovenian MXGP rider Klemen Gerčar snatched the pole position in the EMX Open Qualifying race. The race day in Brežice started with 18°C and later in the day it was hotter with 28°C. Race1 was won by Italian Brando Rispoli, 13 sec. ahead of Slovenian Jaka Peklaj and Italian Jas Janout. Race1 was led again by Italian Brando Rispoli, who won 7,93
