European U21 Individual Speedway Championship at Stralsund (Germany)

The 2018 Under 21 Final brought together European brightest young speedway talents. 9 nations were represented in a strong, competitive field of riders.

A pleasant late Summer day gave the organisers no problems with the track preparation, a small rain shower in the early evening and later in the meeting only helped track preparation. A good racing surface was provided for the competitors, and a healthy crowd watched some spectacular entertainment.
Local interest was maintained by sole German representative Lukas Fienhage. Lukas put in some strong challenges and delighted the home crowd with a race win in heat 7.
Danish rider Patrick Hansen was subject to a heavy fall in heat 10. He was transferred to hospital.
A close competition went down to the final 4 heats to decide the podium positions. Polish Dominik Kubera sealed his victory on 14 points with a win in heat 17.
The other podium positions were decided in a tight heat 19 where all four competitors went in to the race with a podium chance. Polish Wiktor Lampart kept his silver position and Danish Frederick Jacobsen won heat 19 to gain bronze.
