Second round of Trial European Championship in Alagna Valsesia (Italy)

fim europeGerman Franz Kadlec (Beta) is the new leader in the Europe class of the FIM Europe championship, after a convincing victory in Alagna Valsesia, North-West of Italy. Wonderful mountain scenery for this second round, organized in a tourist winter ski-resort village. Twelve sections to repeat three times in a very short loop, easily accessible by spectators. All the sections were completely natural because the venue was rich of any kind of obstacles, Trial competitions require. Scores were quite high for every class, due to a tight application of the no-stop rule.

Kadlec started soon very well gaining the leadership after the first lap: he scored 17 points. Italian Luca Cotone (Sherco) scored 2 points more, while the winner of the previous round, Belgian Maxime Warenghien (Sherco), was in third with 24 mistakes. Werenghien got his revenge in second lap: he scored 16 and overtook provisionally Cotone, who worsened a little his score: 23. Kadlec (20) remained at the top, clear by 5 marks on the runner-up. Superlative the third lap of Kadlec, just 13, and no chances for his rivals. Cotone recovered again and placed himself on the second step of the rostrum. Third Warenghiem. Swedish Marcus Eliasson (Beta) won the Junior class assured his triumph riding very well two third of the competition and then controlling his advantage. Behind him the two German riders, who were protagonist in the last round: Yannich Straub (Gas Gas) , who rode a good third lap, reducing his gap from the winner to only 2 points, and Sascha Neumann (Gas Gas), winner at the first round.

Finn Jussi Haapanen (Gas Gas) confirmed himself the number one among the Over 40 riders. This time he real dominated the scene, scoring half points (20 in total) than runner-up Slovak Vladimir Kotay (Ossa). In third, with just 2 points more, Dutch John Van Veelen (Ossa).

Even in the International class the winner was never in discussion. In a complete Italian podium, Andrea Soulier (Sherco) got 25 points of penalty against the 46 of Raffaele Pizzini (Sherco), in second and the 47 of Michele Bosi (Ossa).

Next round in Czech Republic, in Tanvald on the 28th and 29th of June.
