New automated system for the measurement of noise emissions in motocross tracks by MYLAPS

aboutuemFIM Europe is glad to present a new product from one of its official sponsors: MYLAPS Noise Management is a fully automated system for motocross tracks that continuously measures the noise emission. It stores all data and makes it directly accessible. The system works with MYLAPS MX Timing System and MYLAPS MX transponders, so each individual rider can be held responsible for the sound produced by their bike.

For many motocross tracks and clubs it is becoming increasingly difficult to meet noise regulations. Regulations become stricter and local authorities enforce these regulations more often. This causes many tracks to be threatened with closure or other restrictive measures. The MYLAPS Noise Management System allows tracks to measure and monitor all noise rules. The settings of Noise Management can be adjusted to the local regulations and policies. Martijn Spliethof, secretary BMAC Borculo Motocross, the Netherlands: “BMAC Borculo uses the Noise Management system to preserve the future of our Motocross circuit. We have a new environmental license and meet with the Noise Management system arguably to all legal requirements from the local government. In return we got more opening hours and a larger number of riders in the track. Sound measuring, for which we previously could hardly find people, is now completely automatic and we notice that the total sound level clearly has gone down.
