Motocross Meeting in Matterley Basin

aboutuemA great event was organised by ACU in collaboration with Youthstream from the 16th to the 19th of August with the finals of the EMX 65 cc. and EMX 85 cc. classes after the regional qualification rounds and with the sixth round of the 125cc Motocross European Championship and the fifth round of the EMX 250 cc class.

The meeting was organised at a top level and was characterised by good weather at the main days with many spectators the motocross world saw the world biggest MX event ever held! Over 5 days Motocross in 10 classes (MX1, MX2, MX3, WMX, VMX, Amateurs and the European: EMX65, EMX85, EMX125, EMX250). Nearly 400 riders were present!

In the EMX 65 cc. and in the EMX 85 cc. classes the new 2012 European Champions were awarded, respectively the Swiss Xylian Ramella (KTM) and the Dutch Davy Pootjes (KTM)

In the 125cc. class, the young Slovenian Tim Gajser, already with the victory in the first heat, conquered mathematically the title of 2012 European Champions. The second heat was won by the British James Dunn (KTM). Next and last round of the 125cc class will be held on the 9th of September in Faenza (Italy)

In the 250cc class double win by French rider Maxime Desprey (Kawasaki). In the provisional rankings still leads British Mel Pocock with 230 points in front of Danish Stefan Kjer Olsen with 196 points. The next round of the EMX250cc class is scheduled on the 2nd of September in Lierop (The Netherlands).
