Last round of EMX65 and 85 NW Europe in Randers (Denmark)

aboutuemThe fifth and last round in the European Championship EMX 85cc and EMX 65cc (North Western qualification leg) was held today in Randers (Denmark). The event took place on a perfectly prepared track at an organizer with very high knowledge in MX Sport. The weather was perfect and got still warmer on Sunday (up to 27°). Best weather conditions for the kids and the youngsters.

In the EMX65 class, holeshot of the first heat went to Kim Savaste in front of Kevin Horgmo and Roan van de Moosdijk. Danish rider Mikkel Haarup, 11th up to now and with a good chance for a top 10 place, crashed in the first lap and came back in last position. At the end only 22nd position. Kim Savaste was leading the total time until his engine ‘blocked’ at the forth last table. He could make it run again, but finished only in Position 14. So the winner of this heat was KNMV rider van de Moosdijk. Second on the podium after a very good race from 10th position in the first lap got Danish Glen Meier. And in Position 3 the second NL rider, Noud van Kraaij, came in in front of Danne Karlsson, SVEMO, and Mikkel Lillesoe, DMU. Holeshot went to Kevin Horgmo. Kim Savaste came only as 13th from the first lap. Leader was the local Glen Meier, who held this position to the finish and won Heat 2 and also the Over All in EMX85 of Randers. 2nd position went to Kim Savaste after a good fight.Third got Danne Karlsson in front od Noud van Kraaij and Roan van de Moosdijk .

The Quali-race on Saturday has been won by Raivo Dankers, KNMV, second got Kacey Hird, ACU, and 3rd Anton Nagy, SVEMO. Holeshot went to R. Dankers, KNMV, second Stef Karssemakers, KNMV and 3rd Emil Jursdorf. Max Palsson, SVEMO, did a Top race over the first 75%, was 5 laps in the lead, but than fell back into finally 5th position. Dankers, after problems or crash in Lap 1 only in 10th place, came up continuously and took the lead in the 3rd last lap and won. Silver podium went to another KNMV rider, Stef Karssemakers, and 3rd podium to the Danish Emil Jursdorf, in front of Anton Nagy and Palsson. 17 from 22 riders finished after a fast and strong race. Holeshot went to Emil Jönrup, Svemo. He was than for 7 laps in the lead, but has been overtaken by his colleague Anton Nagy who was the happy winner and also Over All for Sweden. Third got Noel Nilsson after being only in 8th. Place 4 went to Max Palsson and Nr. 5 to Gary Ashley. The gradings with the important positions 1 – 10 for the Final in Matterley Basin, are attached.

The overall final will be at Matterley Basin, UK, the 23rd and 24th of August, in a big event together with MX1,2 and all other classes! Qualified are all Top 10 riders of the 4 Zones.
