ITP EMX Quadcross at Kivioli (Estonia) – Day2

Start

The second day of ITP EMX Quad was held today at Kivioli, in Estonia.  The track was still in good conditions notwithstanding the rain of the night. During the day it rained again from time to time.

IMG 1325 lRace1 started under the rain. It was a difficult race, in which the home rider Kevin Saar was the winner of the holeshot. In lap 2 already Mike van Grinsven took the leading position, in front of Kevin Saar, Edgars Mengelis and the second Estonian rider, Martin Filatov.  At the start a crash among 3 riders happened, which involved Adrian Mangieu, Dniil Vlasov and Tuomas Kuivamäki. Mangieu was able to continue, but for the other two riders race 1 was over. Mangieu however started again only after a while and finished only in 18th place. The top 5 maintained the same position until the last lap, when the leader van Grinsven suddenly stopped and then managed to start again and finish in 11th position. So Kevin Saar won in front of Mengelis and Filatov.

In Race2 the holeshot was done by Mike van Grinsven who performed perfectly. No one had a chance against him. Mangieu at the beginning was in 4th position but he gained quickly the second position. Mengelis meanwhile went into the pits and came back without seat, but managed to end the race in 4th position behind Kevin Saar. At the noise measurement Mengelis’s quad was penalized of 5 positions and ended up in ninth place, but he did win the championship for the second time, four points ahead of Mangieu.
