During the Day1 of the second round of Enduro European Championship, France showed its best side: with summer temperatures of nearly 20 degrees and sunny weather, the first day of race was even better for the spectators than for the riders, who had to fight hard.
Except for the overall winner Brad Freeman from England, French riders were at high level and six of them finished the race in the top 10.
Antoine Basset and Anthony Geslin conquered the second and third place in the overall, right in front of their fellow countryman Quentin Delhaye de Maulde and David Abgrall.
The reigning champion Tom Sagar from England was 6th in the overall and had to fight back to first place in his E2-class after several crashes.
Exept Basset, who won the E3-class with his KTM, more and more junior riders at the top: Freeman, well known after winning the first round in the Junior E2/E3, and the three French riders Geslin, Delhaye de Maulde e Abgrall come all from the Junior E1-class.
French supremacy in the E1-class too: Romain Boucardey won ahead of his fellow countryman Jeremy Carpentier (reigning champion in the Junior E2/3). Behind the French riders, third place for Jonathan Rosse from Switzerland.
In the Women class Jane Daniels is still the rider to beat: the Brit is ahead of some minutes with her Husqvarna.
In the Veteran class the reigning champion Werner Müller from Austria had a big fight with Sebastian Krywult from Poland. At every special test they switched at the leadership until Müller crashed and was beaten.
