European Dragster Championship Final at Santa Pod (UK)

Santa Pod Racers Club along with Santa Pod had, as usual, organized a European Championship final in a brilliant way. An absolute amazing race that would finalize the championship for all classes by the final round of each class.

Two new European Championship records were applied for:
New ET 6,974 Super Street Bike by Steve Venables (photo1)
New ET 6,978 in Pro Stock Bike by Fredrik Fredlund.
Super Street Bike winner: Garry Bowe, United Kingdom
Super Twin Top Fuel winner: Martjin De Haas (photo2), The Netherlands
Pro Stock Bike winner: Fredrik Fredlund, Finland
Top Fuel Bike winner: Filippos Papafilippou, Greece

“The main event in the 50th year anniversary celebrations at Santa Pod was the European Final of Dragrace for cars and motorcycles”, commented Martin de Graaff, FIM Europe 1st Deputy President.
In all four European classes the championship was not decided until the very last final runs. In breathtaking races the results were clear. All races were exciting.
“Because of the rain on Saturday the program on Sunday was long but beautiful to watch for the thousands of spectators.
“The outstanding organisation guaranteed a smooth running of all classes”, concluded Mr de Graaff.
