European 250cc Pairs Speedway Cup: Final 1

The best riders of the Speedway European scene fire back into action today for the European 250cc Pairs Speedway Cup: Final 1, staged at Czestochowa, Poland.

The city is located in southern Poland on the Warte River and is well-known for the famous Pauline monastery of Jasna Góra, which is the home of the Black Madonna painting, a shrine to the Virgin Mary. Every year, millions of pilgrims from all over the world come to Częstochowa to see it.

The young riders proved their talents and raced hard in every heat. From the beginning the Polish pair ruled the meeting and won the event. The other teams competed closely in each heat and eventually it was the most stable Danish team who finished second. The fight for the third place was won by Great Britain.

The points scored in this meeting count for the overall classification of the series, which will follow next week in Pardubice, Czech Republic, and in August in Randers, Denmark.

Final classification:

  1. Poland (Małkiewicz, Ludwiczak, Grzeszczyk) 28
