EMX125 and EMX250 European Championship in Loket (Czech Republic)

aboutuemHosted at a circuit that’s been situated for more than forty years in the small picturesque town of Loket, the young generation of motocross stars lined up today for round six of the EMX250 European Chamionship and round five of the EMX125 series. Loving the old school circuit was yesterday’s ‘Group B’ Semi-Final EMX125 winner Nicolas Dercourt, who finally broke the winning streak of Pauls Jonass, while Anton Lundgren and Calvin Vlaandere completed the podium. In EMX250 Valentin Guillod dominated the whole race and Jeremy Seewer and Mike Kras were second and third.

In the EMX125 class Getting off to a cracker of a start was Italian Davide Bonini who flew out of the gate and led the opening laps. While Bonini began with loads of energy, as he approached mid-race he began to fade allowing Swedish topper Anton Lundgren and yesterdays ‘Group B’ Semi-Final winner Nicolas Dercourt to get by. As Bonini dropped back, the battle between Lundgren and Dercourt raged on. After switching positions multiple times Nicolas Dercourt finally made a pass stick, pulling out a lead of more than ten seconds to bring home his first EMX125 win of the season. Swedish Anton Lundgren rode solid to take home second only three seconds clear of South African Calvin Vlaanderen in third.

Guillod Motorsports Valentin Guillod proved to be back on form this weekend when he took the holeshot and led every lap unchallenged. Following Guillod around turn one was Standing Construct KTM’s Damon Graulus and Rockstar Energy Suzuki Europe’s Jeremy Seewer. On lap four Graulus made a few small errors allowing the Swiss rider Seewer and Beursfoon MX Team’s Mike Kras to go by. While Seewer proceeded to check out, Kras was left to deal with a persistent Graulus who was eager to take back that third place. As the duo Kras and Graulus brawled for third position Husqvarna Factory Junior Team’s Benoit Paturel was at the advantage as he closed in enough to join the battle. After six rounds of the EMX250 Championship Guillod Motorsports Valentin Guillod leads, seventeen points ahead of fellow Swiss rider Rockstar Energy Suzuki Europe’s Jeremy Seewer.

The next round of the EMX125 class is going to be held on the 17th and 18th of July in Bastogne (Belgium), while the next round of the EMX250 is scheduled on the 23-24-25 August in Matterley Basin (Great Britain).
