The track of Mladina in Croatia was the venue of the fourth round of the EMX 65 and 85 South East Zone of the 2016 European Motocross Championship. It also hosted the fifth round of the Open class European Championship, with more than 2000 spectators present despite the bad weather since Saturday night.

The EMX65 race 1 saw Romanian rider Marius Popovici (KTM) get out in front and dominate in front of Hungarian Laszlo Tecsi (KTM). Noel Zanocz (KTM), also from Hungary, was third in this race. Even tough Marius Popovici started in front also in the second race, a crash with another rider slowed him down and he had to settle for second place, while Laszlo Tecsi rode to victory. Bence Pergel (KTM) from Hungary managed to get his bike over the finish line in third place, with Noel Zanocz finishing in fourth place. The overall winner was Hungarian Laszlo Tecsi, in front of Marius Popovici and Noel Zanocz.
In the EMX85 class the two races were very similar, as Nikola Hranic (Husqvarna) was able to win both races at considerable margins. Second in both events was Hungarian Kristof Jakob (Husqvarna) while Croatian Patrik Ujcic managed to get third place. The podium of the overall was the same.
The most expected races were the Open class ones and the riders really did not disappoint. It was a Czech question in the first race, with Martin Michek (KTM), Petr Bartos (KTM) and Petr Michalec (Honda) stepping on the podium in this order. Just like in EMX85, Race2 was going to be a copy, but a crash from Petr Michalec enabled Dmytro Asmanov to get to third place and secure third overall, behind Martin Michek and Petr Bartos.
Next and last race of the EMX85-65 South-East zone will be held next weekend in Serbia at the Krusevac-Globare. Next weekend the Open class will also join the Junior riders for their sixth event of the season.
