FIM Europe and FEMA: collaboration progress

The meeting was hosted by FIM at the new headquarters in Switzerland.From FEMA the representatives were Morten Hansen, Rolf Frieling and the Secretary General Dolf Willigers, from FIM Europe Vice President Silvio Manicardi, Jesper Christensen and John Chatterton Ross and from FIM Steve Aeschlimann, Executive Director Operations.The Group discussed the progress of co-operation of the two organisations; subjects covered included the forthcoming FIM Europe Congress and Road Safety Conference.Other items included the continuing work on the new CEN standard for protective clothing for street riders, and the many challenges and opportunities coming to our motorcycling world from new developments on automatic vehicles.Vice President Manicardi issued an open invitation to the FEMA colleagues to attend the

Individual Speedway Euro Championship in Liberec (Czech Republic) and Zarnovica (Slovakia)

The new stadium of Liberec, in Czech Republic, and the city of Zarnovica (Slovakia) hosted the Individual Speedway Euro Championship. Saturday's race was a promotion of the sport and it was big entertainment for the spectators in the small "family stadium" in the North of the Czech Republic.Polish rider Michal Szczepaniak won the Semi Final 3 and advanced to the Challenge of this year: the Final European Championship.With him on the podium, Russian Artjom Laguta and Swedish Joonas Kylmakorpi, in front of Polish Tomasz Jędrzejak. They all will race in the Final at Olching, next May 26th. In Zarnovica (Slovakia), the win was taken by Fredrik Lindgren (who defeated Anders Thomsen in the additional heat). Advance was reached also by Przemysław Pawlicki and Tomas H.Jonasson. Other riders including Krzysztof Buczkowski did not manage to go through. EMX 250 and 125 in Pietramurata (Italy)

(Photos @Youthstream)The atmosphere here in Pietramurata for the fourth round of the European Championship EMX250 and the second round of the European Championship EMX125 presented by FMF Racing was completely off the hook as thousands upon thousands of motocross crazy fans packed into this awesome venue, situated at the base of the Dolomite Mountains, to watch the best dirt bike riders in the world do business. Even though it poured with rain for the majority of the first races yesterday, it didn’t dampen the vibe. All it did was make for a diverse round of racing where the talented youngsters were faced with vastly different conditions in each race.Yesterday Mother Nature went to town on the hilly hard-pack track, which made for a very wet and challenging day. EMX65 and 85 NW and ITP Quad at Moorgrund, Germany – Day2

EMX65 and 85 NW and Quad were held today at Moorgrund-Gumpelstadt, in Germany. This morning during the warm up a light rain started followed by strong rain with hail and during the day some showers continued.EMX 85 - The first heat saw an interesting race of the young Spanish rider Eric Tomas. Second place for German Maximilian Spies followed by the the leader of the championship, Emil Jönrup, from Sweden. In the second heat, Spies was the leader for the first laps, then Mathias Vesterinen, from Finland, overtook him and won in front of Danish Rasmus Pedersen and Spies, winner of the overall.EMX 65 - The first heat in EMX65 was dominated by Liam Everts, from Belgium, who won ahead of Danish Mads Fredsoe and of Czech Adam Maj. EMX 65, EMX 85 NW and ITP Quad at Moorgrund (Germany)

Moorgrund is in Thueringen, an area in the former Eastern territories of Germany.  Dr. Martin Luther’s father was born here and the well known Luther’s town - Eisenach - with its famous Wartburg Castle is only 20 kms away. Motocross has a long tradition in this area, with important events which have taken place here since 1956. The venue of the track changed after 1989 and a new track has meanwhile been built in Moorgrund: “Am Heiligenberg”.In EMX 65 NW qualifying Mads Fredsoe from Denmark was the fastest in front of Maximilian Werner from Germany and Liam Everts from Belgium. TEUTSCHENTHAL (Germany) - The track this weekend that hosted the third round of the EMX250 European Championship has been a staple on the calendar of the FIM Motocross World Championship for years. The European championship runs along side the world’s premier motocross series, MXGP, and joined the big boys for the MXGP of Germany in Teutschenthal.In race one, Monster Energy Kawasaki Racing Team’s Hunter Lawrence, the kid that has been struggling to keep it on two wheels at the previous two rounds but still has been setting the fastest lap times, finally kept it rubber side down for his first moto win and did the same again in race two for his first European Championship victory.When the gates dropped with a thud it was Bud Racing Monster Energy Kawasaki’s American youngster Darian Sanayei who took the holeshot ahead of the race one winner Hunter Lawrence. EMX 65 and 85 SW zone at Gazzane di Preseglie (Italy)

The second round of EMX65 and 85 cc SW zone was held at Gazzane di Preseglie, in Italy. In the 85cc class, the winner of race1 was the Italian rider Kevin Cristino, in front of his compatriot Mattia Capuzzo and of Slovenian Maks Mausser. Race2 was won by Austrian Rene Hofer, in front of Italian riders Alessandro Facca and Kevin Cristino. In the 65cc class the winner of both races was the Italian rider Matteo Luigi Russi. In race1 second place for Russian Zakhar Osmolovskiy, and third for Spanish Victor Puig. In race2 podium for Spanish Pablo Gutierrez, second in front of Italian Ferruccio Zanchi.
