Bajas European Championship:
the first event gets under way in Spain
Round one of the Bajas European Championship got under way together with the FIM Bajas World Cup, the Spanish National Championship and FIA European Cup for Cross-Country Bajas.
Three days event through magnificent Badajoz, Alconchel, Santa Marta, Cheles and Zahinos cities, surrounded by Gwadiana river, natural border between Portugal and Spain.
The schedule saw Friday’s Prologue of 5,90 km along Gwadiana River, Saturday two Selective Section (SS) of 133 km and 201 km, Sunday two Selective Section (SS) of 79 km and 76 km. Total length of the race: 495 km of SS and additional 487 km.
Portuguese rider David Megre won ahead of Spanish Juan Jesús Sánchez and Freud González. Victory for Antoine Sanchez in the Quad category.
