Results of the Road Racing European Championship final in Albacete

Great day of motorcycling today in the Spanish track of Albacete, where was held the Road Racing European Championship final. The weather was warm and sunny and the event was held with perfect organisation. Carmelo Morales (Superstock 1000), Jordi Torres (Supersport 600) and Matteo Ferrari (125GP/Moto3) are the new 2012 European Champions, while the Junior titles went to Alberto Santamaria (Superstock 1000) and Angel Poyatos (Supersport 600). Extremely well fought was the Superstock 1000 race with Spanish dominion and with the three-times European Champion (2008, 2009, 2010) Carmelo Morales (SPA-Kawasaki) who, starting from third position behind Adrian Bonastre (SPA-Suzuki) and Xavier Fores (SPA-BMW), managed at the 7th lap to take the lead and to keep it up to the end despite the attacks of the 2011 Champion Ivan Silva (SPA-Kawasaki), who managed to do a spectacular return from 8th position. Qualifying practices of the Road Racing EC in Albacete

Today’s qualifying practices of the Road Racing European Championship took place in a sunny day at Albacete. The pole position is all Spanish. The Spanish rider Albert Arenas (Honda), gained the pole position in 125GP/Moto3 class. Preview of the Road Racing EC in Albacete

After a long qualification phase for the riders to get access to the final, the interest is growing for the final act of the Road Racing European Championship that will be held next Saturday and Sunday in the Spanish track of Albacete. 108 are the riders registered to the event in the three classes (125 GP-Moto 3, Supersport 600 cc and Superstock 1000 cc.). This is a further demonstration of the kind of attraction that this event is catalysing, in particular among those riders that aspire to demonstrate to be ready to move and compete to higher level categories with more challenging targets. Dryml the new Individual Speeday European Champion

The fourth and last final of the Individual Speedway European Championship was held today on the Austrian track of Mureck. For the first time, the title of an European Speedway Champion was given after a set of 4 final races. The new champion is Ales Dryml, Czech Republic, who could defend his leading position without too much efforts. 2nd finished Robert Miskowiak (Poland), the 3rd place was kept by Andriy Karpov (Ukraine). Winner of the last race was Kenni Larsen, Denmark, who defeated Robert Miskowiak only by run off. A crowd of nearly 2000 spectators saw a well organised event with excellent races. Superstock 600 EC and Moriwaki Cup in Portimao

The fore last round of this season for the EC Superstock 600 Road Race was run today at the fantastic nice Autodromo Algarve circuit in Portimao (Portugal). With a points difference of 2, the 1st and 2nd placed riders respectively Dutch Michael van der Mark (Honda) and Italian Riccardo Russo (Yamaha) had a prestigious race to go. Michael had pole position and Ricardo second after he had technical problems in the 2nd qualifying practice. After a brilliant start of Russo with Van der Mark on the fourth place the battle starts after the fourth lap when Van der Mark catches Russo. For a couple of laps they came side by side over the finish. But in the sixth lap Russo made a little mistake in the difficult hairpin. Quadcross and Sidecarcross of European Nations

The Quadcross and Sidecarcross of European Nations were held today in the Dutch track of Oss. In the Quad class team from France was the favourite with the actual European champion Jeremy Warnia, the European Champion 2009-10-11 Romain Couprie and Ternynck Mathieu. France won in front of the teams from Great Britain and Belgium. In the Sidecar class the top favorite and the local team from the Netherlands was the top favourite with the 10 times World Champion Daniel Willemsen with his passenger Bax Robbie, Vice World champion 2012 Bax Etienne together with Stupelis Kaspars and Willemsen Marcel/Eggink Gertie. The Dutch team managed to win in front of team Latvia and Great Britain. The medals were given by UEM vice president Martin de Graaf to the podium teams. (UEM Press Release 151/2012)

Last round of S2 Supermoto EC in Carole

Last round of the European S2 Supermoto Championship began with leader Petr VORLICEK moving up to the World S1 Championship, as he had already won the title of European Champion last round in Switzerland, having an advantage of 98 points over Devon VERMUELEN with only 75 points remaining. Devon VERMEULEN (KTM) respected his statute of Championship runner-up, winning in style the first race of the event in front of Frenchman Frederic GUERIN (Suzuki). Even though GUERIN tried to make some moves onto VERMUELEN, KTM rider managed to lead from start to finish. Third finished Italian Diego MONTICELLI (Honda). Fulminant start by Frederic GUERIN (Suzuki) in the second race, followed in the first laps by German Jan DEITENBACH (Suzuki), Italian Diego MONTICELLI (Honda) and Devon VERMUELEN (KTM).
