The Endurance races were born in Europe and particularly in France, in 1922 with the creation of the famous "Bol d'Or". These competitions, which at the beginning were national, were integrated into a European Championship in the early 70s with the participation of many official teams and support of Manufacturers. European EMX 65/85 and EMX Women’s Cup in Cieszyn, Poland

The Supplementary Regulations of the first round of EMX North East 65/85 Championship and of the EMX Women’s Cup have been issued and can be downloaded at this link.The races will be held in Cieszyn (Poland) on May 21-22th. As for the Women’s Cup, the event is open to women of a minimum age of 15 years old riding MX2 specification motorcycles (250cc 4-strokes or 125cc 2-strokes). The top four women in the FIM World Championship for 2015 and 2014 are excluded from entering but the event is open to any rider from any Continental Union, not just Europe.

European Supermoto Championship S3, SM Junior and Open Calendar Update

The Bulgarian Motorcycling Federation (BMF) has been forced to change the date of the first round of the European Supermoto Championship SM Junior, S3 and Open: the race scheduled on 7-8 May in Pleven (Bulgaria) will be held on April 9-10, due to reconstruction works planned in the area which will host the race. European Motocross Championship kicking off in Valkenswaard (The Netherlands)

This year both classes will be completely stacked, as 118 riders will line up to compete for EMX250 glory, while the EMX300 class has had a massive improvement in size and there will be 57 riders on the gate. Mr. Giuseppe Luongo, President of Youthstream stated: “The massive rider presence in all the European classes shows that Youthstream’s policy of investing in the youth Championships and in the MXGP Academy has been right. Automated and connected vehicles: “Don’t forget motorcyclists”

Scooters in Rome (Italy) The Google car was just involved in another accident, which shows that research and development still has to continue. But Google is not alone in developing new automated systems to take away some (or maybe one day all) driving tasks. Automation plays a large part in civil aviation, so maybe cars too? FIM is discussing these issues with the European Union and other partners including the FIA which speaks for drivers. In a letter to the EU Commission dated 11 March 2016 FIM set out its position: “We do not wish to see any roads where motorcyclists currently have access denied to riders. Or indeed to pedestrians, cyclists and users of public transport.   FIM Europe in MACEC meeting in Brest (Belarus) The 11th General Assembly of MACEC (Motorcycle Association of Central European Countries) was held on 12 March 2016 in Brest (Belarus). MACEC member Federations are from the following countries: BFMVS (Belarus), LMSF (Lithuania), FMRM (Moldova), PZM (Poland), FRM (Romania), SMF (Slovakia) and FMU (Ukraine). BFMVS President Aleksandr Drahun welcomed the participants of the General Assembly in Belarus and was happy to be the host of this important meeting.MACEC is one of the six Regional Associations in FIM Europe; the others are AAMU (Alpe-Adria Motorcycle Union), AAM (Association Méditerranéenne de Motocyclisme), BMA (Baltic Motorcyclists Association), BMU (Balkan Motorcycle Union) and NMC (Nordic Motorsport Council). For the second day of the European Enduro Championship in Donoratico (Italy) the track and the special test have not only been reversed, but they where more bumpy after the first day. That is one of the reasons why yesterday’s winner, the Italian Nicolas Pellegrinelli, did not manage to win again. “Another rider was stuck right in front of me in the special test and it took me a lot of time to pass him in that narrow track. But the most time I lost because I’m not used to my new bike in this rough conditions”, said Pellegrinelli.So the second Junior took the lead: Brad Freeman won the first cross-test and from this point on he controlled the race. European Snowmobile Enduro Cup in Kemijarvi (Finland)

The European Snowmobile Enduro Cup was held in Kemijarvi, in northern Finland where Snowmobile Enduro was born 25 years ago. The race was a success and this year the 2 day event consisted of a total of 8 tests and a route of over 540 km.The snow conditions were excellent and provided perfect conditions for a traditional Snowmobile enduro race.31 senior class, 24 veteran class, 6 women class and 3 junior class riders and snowmobiles were inspected and approved to the race. The technical steward was pleased with the local clubs as for officials and arrangements. In the Senior Class, on Day1 Lauri Pellonpää from Finland won and Juha Haapamaki and Henri Marttinen completed the podium.
