European Motocross 65 and 85cc South Eastern Zone in Greece

  Aida Cojanu finished 65cc Race1 at the third place Greek Motocross Club OFMG hosted this weekend the first round of the European Motocross 65cc and 85cc South Eastern European Zone. Three thousand people gathered today in Giannitsa MX Park to enjoy the thrilling races the MX kid riders in EMX65 and EMX85 were about to perform. 26 riders from 6 different Countries were present despite the rain, which was coming and going since Saturday morning.             Croatian Nikola Hranic (Husqvarna) was the winner of the day in EMX85, having won both races in front of Greek rider Antonis Sagmalis (KTM) who managed to finish second also in the second race after a great battle with Bulgarian rider Nikolay Malinov (Kawasaki) who had to settle for third as well in both races.         Greek rider Andreas Andreou (Yamaha) did the battle for the second place but finished

European Enduro in Brioude (France) - Day1

Brad Freeman, winner of the overall in the first day - Photo @Robert PairanDuring the Day1 of the second round of Enduro European Championship, France showed its best side: with summer temperatures of nearly 20 degrees and sunny weather, the first day of race was even better for the spectators than for the riders, who had to fight hard. Except for the overall winner Brad Freeman from England, French riders were at high level and six of them finished the race in the top 10.Antoine Basset and Anthony Geslin conquered the second and third place in the overall, right in front of their fellow countryman Quentin Delhaye de Maulde and David Abgrall.The reigning champion Tom Sagar from England was 6th in the overall and had to fight back to first place in his E2-class after several crashes.Exept Basset, who won the E3-class with his KTM, more and more junior riders

Mr Michael Günther, Sport Director, and Mr Jochen Schäfer, Responsible for Motorcycling, met FIM Europe Secretary General Mr Alessandro Sambuco, in a joint meeting with the Administration. In addition to discussing various administrative matters, the meeting represented the occasion to understand how the General Secretariat services are perceived by an important Federation such as DMSB.“These occasions are fundamental for me, in order to collect, understand and interpret the evaluation on the work of our Organization”, stated Alessandro Sambuco. “What emerges from these meetings will give us an opportunity to promote improvement activities, with the minimum target to maintain the value of the current standards and with the more challenging goal

European Enduro in Brioude (France) - Preview

Since the Six Days of in 1980 the city of Brioude is a well known venue all over the world for enduro.For the second round of the European championship, during the Easter weekend, the challenging race will be made up of three laps of the course, and each lap will be 80 kms long, with three tests. The opening ceremony with riders parade will take place on Thursday evening at 6:00 pm.Test 1 will be a typical cross-test with a long grass track in Civeyrat, only 7 kms East from Brioude.Test 2 is the extreme-test in Verneuges, about 23 kms South West from the paddock. Lots of rocks and a big jump will challenge the riders.Test 3 is the enduro-test in Brenat, about 12 kms South West from Brioude. The race is completely through the wood, with plenty of stones and roots everywhere.The spectators will have five most interesting view-points.For

European Snowcross Championship – Update

Following the cancellation because of the unsuitable weather conditions of the 2 events that were scheduled in Estonia and Russia for the 2016 European Snowcross Championship, FIM Europe is delighted to confirm that this championship will now be combined with the World Championship event in Alta, Norway on Friday and Saturday 8/9 April. The Chairman of the FIM Europe Motocross and Snowcross Commission, Mr Eddie Herd, is extremely pleased to have this event saved and for the riders to visit this spectacular track in the far north of Norway and expresses his sincere thanks to Youthstream, the FIM/CMS, the NMF and the Alta club together with the FIM Europe Management Council for their cooperation and assistance, without whom this event could not happen. The Supplementary Regulations will appear on the FIM Europe website within the next few days.

These competitions, which at the beginning were national, were integrated into a European Championship in the early 70s with the participation of many official teams and support of Manufacturers. European EMX 65/85 and EMX Women’s Cup in Cieszyn, Poland

The Supplementary Regulations of the first round of EMX North East 65/85 Championship and of the EMX Women’s Cup have been issued and can be downloaded at this link.The races will be held in Cieszyn (Poland) on May 21-22th. As for the Women’s Cup, the event is open to women of a minimum age of 15 years old riding MX2 specification motorcycles (250cc 4-strokes or 125cc 2-strokes). The top four women in the FIM World Championship for 2015 and 2014 are excluded from entering but the event is open to any rider from any Continental Union, not just Europe.

European Supermoto Championship S3, SM Junior and Open Calendar Update

The Bulgarian Motorcycling Federation (BMF) has been forced to change the date of the first round of the European Supermoto Championship SM Junior, S3 and Open: the race scheduled on 7-8 May in Pleven (Bulgaria) will be held on April 9-10, due to reconstruction works planned in the area which will host the race.
